(( Ummm...  ??? Did these posts happen while I was asleep? Oh, and remember, the Pentekonterus started out a bit dumber than Australopithecus (did I spell that right?), so it took this long. No joke. It's just for differentiation's sakes, really. Also, their posture (check out the creature thread) and their lack of focus on improving comfort for their species may have hindered such development. And the fact that their planetary conditions haven't changed much, so they didn't have to adapt. And they don't farm, they're carnivores. So many differences from humanity... another one of which is being cold-blooded. I shall coin a new term for the situation. It's called being "UFOmega'd." It's when poster A posts a topic, Poster B joins, and all is well until Posters C and D show up. They point out something they don't like, then debate it with Poster B while Poster A, who made the topic, is asleep.))

Unfortunately for Drukl, he did not know two things:
One, the Core Combine had already landed on the Old Continent.
Two, he did not know that back home, the other animals were entering the party.

Suddenly, huge herds of Ukuril, as if attempting to help those that hunted them, stampeded over the Core Combine's soldiers. Meanwhile, large packs of Irriuths, once he Pentekonterus' main hunting rival, swept down from the sky. It didn't help the Core Combine that their helium-filled flotation sacs were in their tails. Or that otherwise, they were just very lightweight reptiles. And then the Karavus lept from the rivers. These semiaquatic behemoths were the main reason that the Pentekonterus had avoided the water for so long. In groups, they were even more dangerous. These wild creatures were not sapient, but they could fear. And helping their enemies was less therrifying than being wiped out completely.

The non sentient animals that where apparently joining the fight did not even make the Core Combine flinch, mainly because in a very short time those beasts would be fighting for THEM, for you see the Core's terraforming spores where starting to do their thing, entire regions of Kaivik where transforming, the vegetation becoming denser, the beasts becoming incredibly savage, growing larger, stronger, and appearing in even greater numbers since the spores would induce a mating frenzy, these "Core Ferals" had been mutated by the terraforming spores, it was as if the flora and fauna of Kaivik was turning against its inhabitants since the spores also had that nice little effect of mind control...

To ensure a surrender with the Pentekonterus the Core was launching its terraforming spore pods straight into the oceans and rivers of Kaivic in order to poison the Pentekonterus water supply with their mind controlling spores, these spores had done wonders against the tribes, they encouraged sluggish behavior and basically sapped them of their will to fight, which would soon follow with the rest of the Pentekonterus as the sheer number of spores raining down onto the planet allowed the populace to see them in the air as they rained down upon their cities.

Meanwhile on the assault carrier, Ragaran was beginning to realize that for some reason or another these creatures where apparently not getting the message that resistance was futile ((Ok I could not resist...)) apparently he was going to have to step up on the destruction if he wanted these creatures to surrender...

//Target labled locations on planetary masses...//

With this the Core Combine targeted certain areas on Kaivic, Ragaran had to show these aliens that it was either Skrallification or extermination...

//Locations targeted......... proceed with orbital bombardment!//

It was relatively simply for any Core fleet to bomb a planet to dust, carriers where particularly good at since the refit, the locations were targeted and the Core immediately launched a small number of its orbital bombardment weapons, all aimed for a single continent on Kaivic (LUCKILY not the old one..), mainly a certain amount of plasma bolts, which detonated like nukes on a much different scale, due to the bombardment, in just a few minutes the Core Combine had completely "glassed" half a continent on Kaivic and they where capable of doing MUCH MORE if they wanted to... it should also be noted that in the area they glassed there where still Combine soldiers and slaves along with Pentekonterus resisters, showing just how ruthless the Skrall where...

And that they meant business now...

And in the Pentekonterus cities, the alien message continued to loop in the Pentekonterus media on every signal and channel, and the Core where getting  more skilled in the Pentekonterus language causing the order to surrender to slowly become more understandable...

((The orbital bombardment may seem a bit god moddy..... but hey these ARE aliens far more advanced then the Pentekonterus...))

As the three nations prepared to surrender, each rallied a last-ditch attempt to survive. The Nation of Kings mobilized an army consisting of every one of its citizens. The Swamp Nation, Drukl's home, sent its women and children into uderground bunkers that might just help them. The Nation of Embers sent out a weak radio signal asking the Core Combine to have mercy in the name of their gods. Drukl, meanwhile decided to surrender himself and his crew in the hopes that he might be spared. Those Pentekonterus still resisting were now faced with the Core's soldiers, the mutated animals, and the members of the grassland tribes, who, believing they would be spared, stopped fighting the Core and turned against their own people. Now, machine gun met phaser bolt and throwing-spear volley on a battlefield that stretched over half of the New Continent. The prince of the Nation of Kings fled, and from behind Core Combine lines in orbit, an object half the size of Kuuruk hurtled towards the system, poised to annihilate everything on the planet. It passed the planet Kiivck, an iceball of a planet with only a crumbling alien mining station to its name.

((The planet is called Kuuruk. The STAR is kalled Kaivik.))

((EDIT- No, it's not a ship, it's an asteroid. Which will probably be deflected.))

//Gorak! Proceed with status report of planetary conquest//

Ragarans advising Gorak began to relay the data towards him instintantly giving him the state of the Pentekonterus

//Faction designated as "Nation of Kings" is mobilizing mass armed force to resist..... Faction designated as "Swamp Nation" is attempting to hide its civilians in hopes of sparing them from Skrallification.... Faction designated as "Nation of Embers" is currently sending transmission... the message appears to be a request to show mercy... Analysing... planetary conquest is estimated to be in 24 hours or less...//

If the Skrall where capable of having emotions, and by extension have a sense of humor Ragaran would have probably burst out in a laughing fit, show mercy? These creatures must have been truly desperate, but since they asked nicely (by groveling) Ragaran would give the Nation of Embers "Skrall mercy"

//Send transmission to faction designated "Nation of Embers"...//

//Connected...//

//Faction designated "Nation of Embers" you will move your population towards these designated landing sights for Skrallification... if you to not proceed to designated landing sights you will all be exterminated! Proceed with relocation immediately....//

As for actions against the other two nations, the Core Combine took on the Nation of Kings army head on, thousands upon thousands of slave troops and soldiers charged their front line, they where going for a full out frontal assault, what was truly disturbing however was the fact that the Skrall had already started the assimilation process known as Skrallification, and because this the Pentekonterus where beggining to notice that among the Core's slave armies there where quite a few Pentekonterus who where fighting with them, all of them genetically and cybernetically enhanced And even as the battle proceeded Pentekonterus could see Core Combine troops dragging away their comrades to convert them.

Similar actions where taken against the Swamp Nation basically the Core where just hitting them repeatedly, against an army with greater numbers and far superior technology they would not last long...

//Warlord Ragaran... object approaching... asteroid of large size heading towards our position... object will likely impact Kuuruk//

Ragaran did not give much of an outward responce but you could say he was mentally sighing inside... of ALL times... this was practically the worst.... then again... perhaps he could convince the Pentekonterus that the Core Combine had fired at the asteroid to save them... hmmmmmmm then Skrallification would be ten times easier....

//Record asteroid destruction...//

With this the Core Combines larger ships turned all of their weaponry towards the asteroid they basically hoped break it up into small pieces that would eventually burn up in the atmosphere, they where recording it because perhaps later they would show it to the Pentekonterus to perhaps trick them... or something... it was always good to have a few extra plans on you...

//Fire all batteries!// the next action was pretty obvious...

As for Drukl and his crew, a Core Combine patrol caught them and sent them with the rest of the captured Pentekonterus to be Skrallified...

The prince realized that there was probably no escape for him. Rather than be captured by the Core soldiers, he fell on his own sword. The king headed to the catacombs of his palace to escape any nearby armies. In the Nation of Embers, the orders issued by the Core were followed to the letter. Better to live a slave than to die in vain, was it not? As time passed, those that did not surrender did one of two things:
1. Fight to their own deaths.
2. Kill themselves.
Kuuruk was slowly spiraling into chaos, and as the chunks of meteor burned to a crisp in the sky, the planet was saved in one way, but doomed in another. Those wild creatures that had not yet been mutated, which mainly lived in the oceans, paid no mind to the madness on the surface. Simply put, the planet had gone to Urukval(their religion's underworld).

Ahhh the joy.... or at least semblance of joy of conquering a new world... to further the cause, it was a good feeling... Ragaran would have given himself a pat on the back.... but he was not that emotional, after all the work never ended in the Core Combine, an industrial fleet would be called in order to handle proper Skrallification procedures then he would be off to find a new planet and repeat the process, the Pentekonterus fate was sealed... (or was it? DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNN)

Needless to say the Pentekonterus who was dreaming was no longer seeing a dream he was now seeing a nightmare, all throughout Kuuruk his future people where being enslaved by an unstoppable enemy that appeared out of nowhere, was this truly their fate?

Throughout Kuuruk Core Combine where practically everywhere on every continent, patrols ran through the forest daily looking for any last pockets of resistance as well as searching for any bunkers or anywhere else resisters could be hiding and any Pentekonterus who had not killed themselves or had not bin Skrallified where dragged out of their homes to be converted, this labor force would join the one on the industrial fleet heading towards Kuuruk to begin harvesting the planet for resources and create proper construction facilities. after which Kuuruk would be nothing but a memory, just another of the many other worlds the Skrall had conquered, and the Pentekonterus would just be another race they have enslaved, catalogued, and forgotten...

((So question.... since this is all just a dream, do you plan on perhaps doing one of those first contact threads but instead in the real world instead of the dream? Thing is I know very well you don't want your race enslaved or destroyed when your just starting out, soooo I am just wondering what this all might add up to, it would make a great Armageddon myth the Pentekonterus keep until they reach space and realise what is coming are infact aliens))

As the nightmare faded into nothingness, the young Pentekonterus reeled in shock at how he could have caused this. The voice issued him a last warning: "If you do not wwish for this, then do not go to the East. There is one there who will corrupt your heart. Then, the chaos that you will cause will leave your people in these ruins. Beware the East... beware the East... Just then, the young Pentekonterus awoke and saw a small band of his own kind headed his way. He began to run, but they called to him to stop. Later, they would teach him many secrets: fire, the pointed stick, basic art. It was the beginning of the greatest civilization that Kuuruk would ever know. In the ruins of the previous attempts at civilization, they began to build their people.

END
