Maxis gets Major Layoffs due to poorly performing Spore Sales
« on: November 19, 2009, 05:29:56 pm »
"SFCGE knows Spore didn't sell as well as some people wanted, and it came in years behind schedule. And Kotaku reports that an internal EA memo said the layoffs were to "improve our cost structure, ensure quality and build schedule integrity for this studio."

That's corporate-newspeak for, 'Your games cost too much to make, didn't make enough money, plus they sucked and were late. Happy Thanksgiving! XOXO!'

Its amazing how a false sense of entitlement can make people so petty.

Normally people endlessly going on about how much they dislike Spore (but just love talking about how much they hate it), that doesn't bother me. It can make for some funny banter sometimes. This? Come off it. You're laughing at people losing jobs, because you've still got a chafed ass about some game that flopped. If you want another tasteless post-mortem witch burning, could you at least take it to official Spore forums where the rest of them are?

I agree with Uroboros, I can't believe you're still pouting around about the game.

Then again, that's alll he really has going for him.  I'm pretty sure around 90% of Helio's posts are him whining about how Spore wasn't what he had convinced himself it would be 3 years earlier.

Spore has sold over 2 million copies, and the Sims 3 has sold pretty damn well so. . .

I find it sad that no one learned from it, at ea or Maxis. The people "responsible" have been fired, problem solved right?
