Moon
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:25:20 pm »
So I went to my theatre today and did not like any of the movies playing, so I decided to see an independent film instead. I got to the Independent film theatre and they only had one movie playing, Moon. That was an interesting movie to say the least. I don't want to ruin anything, but it's about a man living alone for three years on a space station on the lunar surface. All I can say is SEE THIS MOVIE

Obviously UFO, you haven't snuck into Micheal Bay's house and stolen his version of Citizen Kane. Giant radioactive exploding ninjas are the least silliest parts.

I suppose it's funny that you posted after me, because you are also female.  How coincidental.

Well, the trailer had Sony slapped on the front.  I suggest looking around their site.

Weird, The Rotten Tomato Show was markeding it as independent.

EDIT: It was made independently, Sony buys independent movies and releases them.

I've seen it too. It was a nice movie but I expected a little more.

Nontheless cool movie, I found it also quite original :)

I've been waiting for this movie forever. Not too confident it will pop up here in Denmark though. Shame, it's really the kind of effort I'd A)want to watch in a cinema and B)pay for.

Download it. I usually do, and then when it comes out I watch it in the cinema. Nothing can beat the sound and quality of a cinema.. not really.

I watched it... I couldn't wait anymore!  :-\   Was a good movie too, but it mostly made me sad there's next to no hard scifi moviemaking these days.

Yeah its too bad Hollywood doesn't take risks with that kind of sci-fi as much anymore. Moon was a good example of them taking a simple idea and working a near future scenario into it. The tech feels just right and not crazy fantasy tech like in stuff like Star Trek.

Watched this on Netflix. Amazing movie. Great mastery of suspense. It's sort of the same category as "2001: A Space Oddessy" and "Silent Running" (moreso the latter).

The ending was very emotionally satisfying. I actually cheered! :D
