Just saw it.  Awesome movie.  End result of the plot is a bit predictable, but how they get there is interesting.

Discuss.

Well I havn't seen Inglorious Basterds, but I can very much recomend seeing Zombieland.  It is one of the few movies where I come out of the theater saying "Wow, that was a great movie".

Hmm, that's a very good question.  It is really all in how a lot of little things come together beautifully.  It's not really too muych of a comedy, but comedy is there, always subtley in the background, jsut enough to be entertaining, but not so much ot become overbearing.  The as I said before, the end results of the plot is fairly predictable, but just the process of getting there is interesting and unique.  The acting is very well done, as are the effects.

I dunno, I'm not very good at explaining these sorts of things, I'd reccomend reading some reviews, but like I said, I recomend seeing it.

Also to what I said before, I'm not saying that Zombieland is better than Inglorious Basterds.  I can't take that stance since I havn't sene the latter.  I'm just saying that Zombieland is a movie that should be watched.  If you can see both, all the better.

Is it rated R and if so is it an R that deserves to be R or is it more of a hard PG-13?  I'm not allowed to view most R films, so that's why I'm asking.

Is it more horror or comedy? I hate horror, but love comedy?

So basically is it more Shawn of the Dead or Dawn of the Dead?
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

This move was really great. Now to answer some of your questions. If you're wondering whether to see this or Inglorious Basterds it's hard to say. That really depends on what you're looking for. They were both good, but in their separate ways. It's hard to compare them. If you're willing to sit roughly three hours in the theater than see Inglorious Basterds, otherwise see this. If you can, see both.

Zombieland is a comedy, but one that is very big on the gore. I've seen several zombie movies and this one is right up there with the goriest. There are times where I cringed just because it seemed a bit over the top. But even then this was hilarious. The acting was great, Woody Harrelson needs to be in more movies, and, as I read in the newspaper, the surprise appearance of Bill Murray was the funniest 10 minutes of any movie this year.

Zombieland was rated R for a good reason. There are some really gory parts, some crude humor, and the F bomb was dropped several times throughout (not that it matters much, that is part of the R rating system though).

Hope that helped with some of the questions. If not I can always try again.

agreed. both movies were filled to the brim with what the kids call 'awesomesauce'.

It's rated R mostley for the gore I would think.  Apart from that it's pretty tame by most movie's standards.

This movie is very entertaining. I'd definitely recommend it over Inglourious Basterds. Zombieland also has the best cameo appearances I've ever seen.

I think I might be able to see it.  Hopefully without a barf bag or eyepatch.

I'm tired of zombies and the trailers were really unfunny, but then again it's Woody Harrelson. Oh, I don't have any money. That solves that dilemma.

It was good, but not belly laugh good as in, I want to laugh so hard I either pee myself or start crying, either way I get wet.

Just adding a girly scream from Tallahase now and then would have been nice :)

I just rented this on DVD... mainly becuase we are waiting for our other netflix choices to be available.

I'll give it a 3. The plot, and I use that word loosely, had absolutely no flow and the whole thing felt duct-taped together. While there are funny parts, the whole thing would have faired far better as a 15minute short rather than dragging it out over a couple hours. But then again, it is really nothing more than a big GM SUV commercial anyways.

And sadly, they are making a sequel.

Sorry, the axis is on a 0-10

As for what I label my axes, that should only be on interest to lumberjacks. ;)

I just seen it and it was awesome, it had just the right amount of funny to remain believable and not to over the top. It is quite gory though, I was actually eating at the start of it and quickly lost my appetite and put my food away. I would give it an 8 of 10 it would have got a 9 but I took a point off for reasons below.

The Bill Murray appearance was forced, stupid and broke the immersion of the movie. First Bill is wearing make up to look like a zombie so they wont eat him which makes NO sense whatsoever. Second people that have been surviving the WHOLE time decide that sending Bill in to scare a guy who was last seen holding a shotgun checking out the manson would be funny and it some how slips their mind that he would shoot him. So The kid shoots Bill and the movie for the next few minutes turns to slapstick comedy while Bill dies, then the next scene its pretty much okay, no guilt whatsoever and the movie moves forward. Horrible horrible plot line that was there for the sake of having a Bill Murray cameo and took away from the overall film.

Oh I agree Pat, In  real life it wouldn't make sense, but ill let it slide in the context of the movie.
