I saw the review, and it's also ironically what I'm basing it off of.

The AVGN said the designer said it wasn't true to his original design.

But enough about that, the point is that Metal Gear ad lots of Stealth elements in it and wasn't really action because of all the waiting and sneaking around.

I like my sandbox.
Coming close in second place is action/adventure.

Typically speaking, these are my favorite genres, but now and then it's nice to play an RTS to remind myself why I find them boring.
And that used to be my favorite genre too. Eh.

Would Dungeon Keeper count as RTS or sandbox?

Isn't Metal Gear Solid a film?

Whoa... Hadn't heard of that yet.  Shame on you, Hideo Kojima.

So they're going to put all the cutscenes together... and then cut twenty hours of them back out again.
Not a winner anymore.

Hmmmm...  I don't really have a favourite, but for the sake of the poll I'd say action-adventure or platforming.

Well sandbox is not really is own genera. Is more a way to do things that can be applied to any genera (Almost at least.) Dungeon Keeper is both a strategy game and a Sandbox game. Oblivion is both a RPG and a Sandbox. GTA is both shooters and sandbox games. Sandbox is in that way more a element like 3D then it is a genera.

but of those games the main focus is usualy the sandbox part...like sim city and GTA and spore too

im pretty sure you can dislike strategy but love dungeon keeper or sim city...
and not like shooters but really enjoy GTA.

True sandbox is more of a mechanic than a game, but many strategy games are considered sandbox for the sheer reason that little strategy is actually involved.  This includes Spore, the Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and the like.

Since when was Spore a strategy game in the first place?
