Meh... It's not that cool looking at all.

The Last Airbender looked cooler than this.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

Seriously though, I don't give a rats uncle about CGI at all. I care for a good storyline and characters. Farscape and Stargate didn't have astonishing CG but I overlooked that for the reasons I stated.

I wholeheartedly agree, story is good and characters are good. You need a strong story and background upon which to build, but the good cgi just makes it more visually believable, and makes the film appear to a wider audience. So people who wouldn't watch a Sci-Fi film see it as an action film. not as a Sci-Fi masterpiece, However i believe if he exploits that he may well find him self being a jack of all trades master of none where this film is concerned

Did anyone watch the 17 min preview in IMAX 3D yesterday? Cause from what I heard, the 3D makes it much, much better.

Well, alot of positions would be pretty hard to do, seeing as the aliens are sorta twice my height. :/

I watched the trailer, and quite honestly didn't leave me impressed.

To be honest, I felt the CGI in District 9 was better.
And this film has a Budget of 300$ million! I hope Cameron doesn't work more on the CG than the Actual storyline (Which seems rather generic from the trailer).

OK, I was in a hurry when I wrote my post.

My thoughts:

It seems too much on CG.  Why is EVERYTHING CG?  And I could tell it was CG.

I can't see why it's so hyped up.

People need to get hyped up about better things.  CG doesn't make a film interesting or engaging.

The CG dosen't seem brand new either. it's the same CG as always, only now there's more of it.

It's a 3D EXPERIENCE!!11!1!1!!
I don't like the overuse of the CGI as well, along with the appearance of the Avatar's.
