Ok this game is not bad at all.

I havent come very far but so far it is following the style I want. Reminds me sort of BG2 and the first Never Winter Nights. Man how I played the both of them, even skipping school at the time to play.

So, my computer sounds like a jetengine when putting this on, probably because I maxxed everything. Story is great so far.. I did a random thing, usually I just do the normal human warrior crap but this time I randomized it on little notes where I would randomly pick sex, race and class. I got Male Elf Warrior.

One thing I do hate is that the medallion on one of the members with me looks like an image on the texture and does not bulk out as a medallion would. I hate that.

other than that, nothing bad with it so far.

I suppose it's funny that you posted after me, because you are also female.  How coincidental.

Im really enjoying this game. The Human Noble Origin was amazing wow! Im really going for a protector/paladin type of guy. Im so attached to the characters (Especially Morrigan...hawt!). The story is great, I love the finishing kills (Alistar stole my first Ogre kill!), and the use of spells and tactics is amazing! (Oil and Fire Ball..nuff said).

So what kind of a game is this? I've never played Baldur's gate and that's what everyone seems to compare it to. What is the appeal?

Its story. Its combat. Its party interactions.

Its just really, really a good RPG.

OH my god. I just got my first critical finish on an ogre. Needless to say it was the coolest in game sequence I've ever seen.

Yeah the finishing move on that ogre had me cheering as it took me like 4 or 5 tries to bring that beast down.

I love Shale. I love him so much. He is probably my favorite character out of the 3 i have traveled with (my party is Leliana, Wynne, and Shale)

Huh... how strange, I have the exact same party. Swapped the bisexual assassin out for Shale not thirty minutes ago.

Well its mainly because I need Wynne for the healing and Leliana for the romance plot. Shale is there fore pure awesome and tanking, PC is a two handed warrior and a beast, and Shale just can live forever with Wynne,

Finished in 40 hours with my Human Noble Warrior, only completing a few side quests. The ending is one of the best endings I have seen recently, very dynamic. Started another game with a Human Mage going to do some things differently and complete as much as I can, still think I liked the Warrior more but the spells are really cool.

Also having certain characters during some events might change some things, like having Shayle in the party when your in Ozamar.

Huh... I'm at 25% completion and I've logged around 15 hours.

I'm playing on normal but still, that's a rather large gap in time.

Im 14 hours in and all I have reached so far is the 1st town after you get to choose where you can start going. In redcliff and I just finished the undead seige. I think every member of the militia was killed when the last member I had convinced to join went down I think might have been the elf fromt he tavern they were only coming in drips and drabs at that point. I was hoping I could loot the dwarf to get the money I paid him back.
