Is it me, or is GA freakin' hard?
« on: June 28, 2009, 12:24:05 pm »
Okay. I don't currently have a space phase creature, so I've been playing the quick play missions. And I can't even come close to beating some of them. My captain, doesn't have any captain parts yet (need to earn them first), but I did make a creature with max bite, strike, sprint, bash and health. And still, I die. GRawr!

Yes, it does seem cheap at first, but after leveling up your captain it gets easier.... sorta. All depends on what you choose as your first gadget. Electric claws ftw!

You'll never know why.

You should try my adventures they are between 1 and 3 normally and many of them do not require you to battle.

Heh, i've been working at my first mission for two days, spending far too much time terraforming... but it has no combat requirements as well.

I also make non-combat missions for the most part. not that I'm shamelessly self-promoting or anything.

The Maxis missions can be fun and are a good way of levelling up in the early stages. And Grazony's right, those electric claws make combat a lot easier... although don't neglect social parts like I did and end up unable to beat any of the missions that need you to befriend critters.

It's one thing to be killed off by superior firepower, but quite another to fail a mission due to poor social skills.  :P Much more humiliating.
If you peruse my things, you get POINTS!

Only trouble is, they're Whose Line Is It Anyway points, which are infamously not worth anything.

In my experience so far, GA-Captain-Item-Level-1 is stronger than Physical-Creature-Power-Level-X-Where-X-Is-Greater-Than-1.

Simple, play the simple, more peaceful maxis and Robot chicken missions first (how a bill becomes a law, protein synthesis), then move on to the ones people made.
Hell, Skyward Descent is pure win!

That did the trick. If you play the 100 point Maxis made adventures (Adventure Town, space stage intro level, Romeo and Juliet and the Priest escort) you'll have at least two items under your belt and be well on your way to a 3rd.

I just made an insanly hard mission.

you start off at one end of a pathway surrounded by lava, and make your way down the path, fighting tough enemies (100 and 150 health, missles and claws, respectivly).

then you reach the end and a giant monster with 15K health appears, and you have to run all the way back to the start. the problem is, the monster has ranged attacks, is really fast, and your fighting a new wave of enemies on the way.

you have to lead the monster through allied vehicles to slow it down, untill you get to the end and you can kill it.
