Yet more GA problems
« on: June 27, 2009, 10:25:59 am »
I can't seem to find an answer in any other topic, so I'll make my own.

I installed GA yesterday, and what do I get? THE ENTIRE COMPUTER CRASHES! 10 FREAKING TIMES! Reinstalling fixed the random crashes, but now that I can actually PLAY the game, I can't run any adventures! I run windows XP by the way.

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What do you mean you can't play them? ???

You'll never know why.

Them what? The adventures. The loading screen appears, but right when the adventure should start, the computer crashes.

Just do a quick reinstall. That's what I did.

Did your computer crash while Galactic Adventure's was being installed? That's what happened to me.

If you mean just of GA, I did, and that only fixed the computer randomly crashing itself. It didn't crash when installing.

Since the GA patch (no GA yet for me), I started the Space Phase, and the tutorial mission to drop an infected animal was nearly impossible... the beaming down of the animal would send it far off screen, nowhere near the city that was targeted by my ship's transporter.  ???

Yeah I ran into that today. I was on a mission to kill infected creatures, and none of them would die. No matter what weapon I chose. Then I tried teleporting a creature onto the planet, and it nothing happened, and it flew off, then i tried another creature and that hung in that air in the exact same way that bricks dont.

Well there is your problem, Running new games on 10 year old software will most likely cause that.

Well I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition on a Mac Mini. The graphics are crap low, but it's been running fine with no crashes.
