Well I decided to start a new thread for this, since it isn't exactly a PC problem...

Anyway, we are re-decorating our lounge, and getting a new TV, DVD-player etc.

My cousin has set up his DVD player so that they have a Hard-drive attached full of movies, so they can play any one whenever they want.

I think they can play their music and show photos on it as well.

How would I go about doing this?

I've heard good things about this device. If you've got an external HDD it should do exactly what you need.

Ok, can anybody tell me the difference between USB 2.0 and 3.5 and which one I should have on an external hard-drive?

Didn't even know they had USB 3.5. I'm still struggling to get any of my computers to recognize USB 2.0 after all these years.

Well it said it on one of the hard-drives I was looking at. My computer is constantly telling me I have a low-speed USB device in a high-speed port, so I assume I can use 2.0...

Would that awesome box thingy be able to recognise it?

Oh yeh, and do you reckon it would work with a USB DVD/blu ray disk drive?

I really can't say, I only heard about this last week from a guy in class. That said, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

USB 3.0 isn't out yet. Not till about 2010.

It will rock though. It will use fiber optic for data. Can't wait

Hey, more music-tech-related help needed.

My Dad has asked for a PC to amp wireless connection. I found this online, but I don't know how good it is, and it seems to be out of stock everywhere.

Any other recommendations? Don't worry about price, my Dad is a bit of a wannabe audiophile, so he'll want something fairly expensive, even if I don't end up buying it for him myself.

Personally, I'm still not at the point where I trust any wireless tech for audio processing and whatnot. In this case I'd defer to the user reviews on the site. They don't appear to be terribly bad.
