In short, no you can't have them.  The Nauceans probably wouldn't have just left a timesphere patiently waiting with the keys in the ignition for you I'd imagine.

It might be useful as an RP device, though. Lets say that some long-dead machinery spasms out a FTL signal, which attracts different races to the ship. Of course it would be useless beyond repair, but the races don't know that.

If we have another galactic empire, they might be able to kickstart up the engines a time time machine. 'Them', for example, might be able to at least get limited funtionality out of them. There only one way to find out!

Well they are time machines. They could all be sent into the past (or the future). Or just taken apart.

I would think so. But most would be hidden so they don't get into the wrong hands. Or even given to old allies like the Torpal or Sombreons.

Maybe it's because people don't want to compete with the Nauceans, and would prefer to use their background since they lack the confidence to do their own.

I, however, encourage a little competition. It forces you to be original and creative. And I use the term original lightly, since the best stuff is always inspired by something before it anyways.

Gec is right. The Nauceans are nothing but putting together interesting things in a new way. The individual parts are not original at all but when put together they become original.
