Oh my God...  This is the Elbeast's nightmare.  This is going to make my "Rush in and eat all the edible Civ-stage creatures" plan much, much harder.

Are the Naucean intervening with the affairs of the physical realm?

You can only be omnipotent for so long before getting bored with doing nothing.

Maybe their realm just got to boring in the long run and they decided to have a little fun with the Mortals.

Or perhaps they are reappearing to take over the duties of the Wexxians while they are away... not likely!  ;)

I like the whole Obi-Wan Naucobi thing they have got going on!  8)

It's Gandalf the Warm-blooded Bipedal Marine Vertebrate!
I say NO! to all limits.
Unfortunately, I don't think we're far enough into the Civ stage to have deveoped into the 'Infinite-ghz processing' research tree yet...

That staff reminds me of the Ori from Stargate, plus the 'no weapon seems to be effective'.

If you read their history, you find that some wanted to stay behind, if I'm correct. It might be the ones left behind.

" This is the final chapter of their story and one by one each Naucean ascends and leaves their worldly bodies. However not all Nauceans do this. Some choose to stay behind as guardians of the relics of their past and  help other races reach Ascension when they are ready to ask for help. "
