Definitely. What is your username? I'll have to whitelist you and then you can use this IP: 71.225.145.51

The server should be up until Monday. I gotta run out tonight (funeral tomorrow) and then a party on Saturday and work on Sunday with the missus. Since I won't be around to take the server down during that time, I guess it'll be up! :P

Alright you should be able to join now.

Basic rules apply. Don't be a jerk, if you didn't build it don't mess with it, et cetera. Ask if you need anything like a mode switch or whatever! :D

Basic don't-be-a-jerk rules are my favorite rules, sounds good!

The new forests are pretty realistic, but it kind of makes more sense for gameplay to have those short trees cause you don't have to get higher off the ground to get all of the wood, usually.

It'd be nice if floating trees would fall to close discontinuities in the trunk or 'collapse' and redistribute their blocks on the ground within a couple of blocks' radius.

Yeah, otherwise it's kind of weird.
Like with holes in the trees or whatever or floating branches...it kind of irritates me

The only problem I see is how is the game going to distinguish which blocks of logs or leaves belong to another tree of the same type when clustered together? Secondly, how will creative users accomplish an aesthetic look of something when clusters they place get rearranged by the game automatically? I can see how this is a problem if the game was purely survival, but the game also needs to suit the purposes of those who prefer the creative freedom. The game makes no distinction on the behavior of each block of wood (both generated or user-placed) That kind of additional programming could come with its own compromises not only for devs, but also for modders and ultimately players too.

Here, have some pictures I took of the snapshot.

One of the new biomes, "Savanna"

As you can see, the terrain generates higher then the old limit now.

199 blocks tall, even.

My own picture of the ice spikes.

Amplified terrain, anyone?

The tallest waterfall ever, see from the top.

From the bottom.

Wideshot.

With amplified terrain generation selected, I've seen mountains as tall as 250 blocks. It's pretty awesome.

Is this the new update? Minecraft tends to bore the living hell out of me now. :/
