Server is down for the night. Will bring it back up in a few hours when I'm awake.

I'm up for a new map with the next update. Nice Pyramid Ink.
I need a new tag.

Okay! Everything had a few hours to rest and we're back.

Server will be down briefly.

Tweaking some stuff with the map editor at the request of a player. (FYI: this is a service anyone can request and includes raw edits, biome changes, et cetera)

71.225.145.51 Server is currently up!

I don't mind parting with anything I did on M's server. But I do think there are a few good things to keep from others.

It's not like the map file will be lost. She can probably make it available to anyone who wants it. I might mention that it'll be a while before we get the new update (probably not until at least Minecon).

Pat has offered to save anything made on other maps to his map, like an archive. Just let him know what you want.

Double post, worth it:

The one with large oceans looks much better. How was that even an issue?

Yeah, I gotta say I always liked the archipelago worlds of Minecraft.

Also they made for much better-looking maps.

Always being within sight of land sounds weird and boring.

But I guess we'll see.

It sort of looks less fun now. I mean, how are we supposed to experience the entertainment and character-building that comes with building a boat to cross the ocean, and dying because you either starve to death before you see land or you crash into a rogue dirt block and drown?

He says the oceans were too big?

I feel like they weren't big enough. In fact I think every biome was way too small. You shouldn't be able to get out of one by walking in a direction for 30 seconds. It should take a while to cross biomes.

I agree with both of you.

Even large biomes generation was sometimes a little petite to suit my tastes, and now this?

They had better have an option for old generation.

Yeah, it's kind of weird to have a 30-square-foot desert, you know?

Why not use the large biome option?
