This prerelease is Dragon Free.

Found the Change List
Quote
The Sun and Moon have been refined and no longer appear square.
The sun and moon now rise in the east and set in the west.
Flowers now grow randomly around the world like grass on dirt.
Glistering Melon
Grass textures on the side are now properly colored to match the top.
Splash potions with Area of Effect when thrown, created by brewing an existing potion with gunpowder.
You can visit The End but can't get out without death?
F8 Has been restored to toggle smooth-mouse control.
Enchantments
New swirl effect while under a buff.
Bugs:
New swirl effects don't show up in 3rd person front facing mode.
Melons drop just one slice[1]
If you shoot with fully charged bow in Enderman in "The Enderlands" game will crash. You will not be able to load the world.
The block palette UI is missing from the regular game screen after pressing F5 to cycle the third person views. The UI is missing but dimmed as usual when the inventory is visible.
According to Enchantments, Fortune seems to work only if the block would drop a different item type upon being mined. eg coal, diamonds work, ore blocks do not.

What was that one about crashing the world and never being able to load it again? That seems kind of important...

Yeahhhh, server going down soon. Maps will be uploaded and made available.
You know the drill: don't want to maintain, power/bandwidth cost, distractions, etc., etc., up and down like a yo-yo, blah blah, yadda yaddashallabadingdangdongtralala.

I'm back on an awesome connection now. I can put my server back up if anyone likes.

Personally, I think it's because it means I get to be in charge. And when I'm in charge, everyone gets admin powers unless I'm not drunk.

The current release makes three strongholds per map, hidden underground.
The rest of this could be a spoiler:

The folks that tear the code apart say that the three are spread 120 degrees apart from the 0,0 point of the map at a distance of 640 to 1152 meters. The area of that ring is 2.88 million square blocks. So to find a stronghold you'll need to search an area of about 960,000 square meters, and it is IF you know where to start using the F3 commands.

There is word that they will be more common eventually however, for those of us not experts in needle-hay-stackery.

Yeah, the Endereye.
