Wait, an application? Do you have to state your minecraft carrier and your biggest weaknesses and strengths?

Basically you post an application to be allowed on their server with a bunch of questions (ie have you voted for our server, do you have an active forums account) and some even ask stuff like have you been banned from any other servers and stuff like that. It's nuts if you ask me.

Attempting to set up a server as we speak.

Is the IP the same as that of the computer?
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

Secondly, you will need to change your router's port forwarding settings to allow you to host a Minecraft server.

But then it doesn't make any sense.

On a different note, my son has been nagging be to try out minecraft mods.

Better than Wolves is pretty awesome until you need to get the last few rare spawn materials needed that never seen to spawn. (wolves, wolf dung, and goo balls)

YogBox is pretty slick as well, especially with the install utility, but I think I might need to read up on it a little. The play-to-dying ratio is near parity at the moment. When the fire-ogre giant thingy literally ripped the top off my house and killed me it was a bit of an eye opener.

They're not going to. There's a lot of idiotic drama in the minecraft modding community, part of which is BTW's creator being a complete lunatic who considers himself to be under coercion which he's refusing to yield to and has said he'll never allow BTW in the yogbox. Said coercion consists of fans of his mod asking him to allow it in the YB. He even said crap like "poland fell to less than what i'm putting up with".

Don't count on it being in the YB unless someone considerably less nutso remakes it.

Do want! But only if those cartoony lines can be removed. I like how crazy it looks with the lack of straight lines. It's preeetyyy.

I was going to look up what might be going on, but I knew it would be something like that. Having been in the modding community before I know how crazy/stupid it can be.

Years ago I was making and modifying content for Trainz2004 and got endless "You stole my idea. I didn't say you could do that to my creation . I had dibs on making that, I just haven't got to it yet. Can I add your item to my pack? etc..." Eventually I made one post to the effect of, "I'm leaving, do what you want with my content." I still get an email every other month asking permission or someone being pissed off that I did something 'like what they did/are doing/are going to do."

To try and curb the issue they completely changed the modding system in Trainz06 and I've never looked back because it had been made too painful. Now Trainz2012 is out and I just can't bring myself to even see what it might be like.
