Due to a mistake by Brandon, Luminar is now in charge of the forum. How about that, folks?

What can we do for you, sir?

I rebuilt it and Clarke and Flisch are going down.
Don't look at me, I always close doors behind me.
There is, of course, a difference between having a laugh with someone, and having a laugh at their expense

Pat it could be do to door lag. There have been several times where I have to close a door 2 or 3 times before it stays close. Are you sure you aren't you're own culprit?
I need a new tag.

You're aware I was joking, right? :-\
I'm not sure i'll have renewed interest in this game until I can do mods for it. It's one of those games where I probably get more fun out of mucking around with the game itself rather than playing it. Looking at you, Morrowind.

Don't point your grubby finger at me, you bastard. I haven't been on the server in over a week and I'm always very careful to shut my doors. Oh, my chest was missing some diamond tools too.

So I made a map of this old fortress world I made a long time ago:

Cartographer:

Ingame Map:

It's better than I imagined it would be, it actually gives a hint as to elevation. Its not perfect, for instance, the south east just looks kind of bumpy on the map, but as I was mapping it, that area killed me due to it being composed of Minecraft's trademark sheer vertical cliffs. The worst part is that its zoomed out very far, you cant even make out my fortress! It only shows up as the gray blob under the player arrow. I have not found out how to create a more zoomed in map.

Not being able to zoom in on maps can limit there usefulness. It's still kinda neat.

I have a map where I built a transit system where the rail platforms are 5 blocks wide.  These show up as one pixel lines on the map.  I made sure that the rails make a square using x:-500 z:-500 on one corner and x:500 z:500 on the other corner, so it's a square kilometer.  It fits perfectly on the map.
