Sorry to double post, but I have decided that, inspired by that guy's big nuke thing, that I'd build a bomb. Well, here it is.

It's the tower thing in the middle, made of obsidian. I call it the Kraken Bomb. It's a 6x10 cube of dynamite blocks, encompassed on all sides except for the bottom by obsidian. That's what that castle lookin thing was on the other side, a test to see if you could control a dynamite explosion with Obsidian. Well, im about to test it, I'll report back the results in a minute.
EDIT:
Well, I had to rebuild it on land because it epicly failed exploding on ice. but, here it is, after leveling a HILL.

Someone go into a map editor and make a 50x50x50 cube.

Might be cheating, but it would be awesome.

Yeah. I should admit I used MineEdit, but still.
That's still one big boom.

My server has been down because I shut it down due to nobody connecting for 5 days.

I might get it up again if there's enough requests, I will surely get it up and running again after the Halloween update.
DarkDragon's Minecraft Survival Server (use this as the IP):

gamingsteve.dyndns.org

- The server uses a whitelist, if you're not on the whitelist (can't connect), PM me your minecraft name.

I'm putting mine up around the Halloween update as well, maybe a day or two before.
Let me know if you guys would like it to be that same old map from before (the one with the libraries, trees, Patmanistan, and etc.), or if you'd like to generate a new one.
The map generates on the fly sorta, so as we ventured out, we'd discover new stuff anyway.

But yeah, whatever you'd like. Just let me know soon.

EDIT:
Oh my god, this picture made me laugh so goddamn hard.

Maybe the old one pre-update, and a new one post-update? I'd like to be able to access different biomes without having to travel past all the land that's already been generated, which by this time must be pretty considerable.

And that picture's amazing, Kish.

I'd stay away from the word promise.  A lot of the things he's said has the quantifier, "I'd like to", "I might", "I think," or "I'm considering".  Everything he says in the blog/twitter or in interviews with those quantifiers should be taken with a grain of salt.

The only thing anyone should really take as a guarantee right now is the Halloween update, with the updates clearly stated.

If we've learned anything from following a game's development (ie. SPORE) we should take most features a dev reveals with a grain of salt, at least until the game enters beta.  And Notch has said time and again, that if a feature is not fun or hinders gameplay, it will be changed or removed, which could happen before he even releases it.

I don't really feel bad for him.  A lot of people will rage about Notch "breaking promises."  There are some who expect the game to be updated all the time, and there are those who are dead set with how the game is now and expect nothing to be changed, just added.  Notch ignores these people.  If he didn't the game wouldn't progress and he'd never complete it.

Of course, this development process is unique in that everyone has a chance to try each addition to the game and comment about it.  It wouldn't hurt to remind him about certain features he's touched upon that we're looking forward to.

Yeah, sometimes devs get crazy and make all these crazy claims when they get super-excited. Can't ever get too jazzed because people really will take these things as promises.
That thread is mostly so people stop bullcrapping about things they think they heard Notch say, since it seems like a lot of people spread misinformation by accident. That usually ends up creating hype for silly junk that the players made up in their own heads.

Hope that thread helps to avoid a bit of that, but I suppose it may cause a different problem with the whole "promises" thing.
Ah well.
