Maybe instead of wood it could be made of gold, with five plus people it shouldn't be hard to accumulate a good amount of it, and it has no other use. Also, in the chamber below the tower, we could put in items that some people might have excesses of, but others need. Iron, coal, feathers, string, gunpowder, and farm products such as bread are examples of items that some people might accumulate but others would not.

It might be cool to have a communal farm surrounding the obelisk as well, and have the entire package become a center of a grid-like pattern of criss-crossing stone paths. Each player could have their own lot, and others could be used to host communal furnaces, and crafting tables, or in the outer areas tree farms and more communal farms.

We should surround the storage boxes with a super-strong material so I don't dig a tunnel under them and rob all you suckers blind.

Like obsidian? :P But it doesn't really need to, none of the stuff is that valuable. Really valuable stuff should be hidden underground. Or in furnaces, their tops look like smooth stone.

I'm on a map now with a really nice valley next to the ocean. I'll go grab a screenshot.

i made my base into some kind of dungeon/base. Entrance is powered by timing and pressure plates,2 blocks between pressure plate and iron door. Once entering theres a minecart that you can ride down the hill,Over the bridge (pass some waterfalls), Hit the switch when passing by to change the way. Left goes to MarketPlace and it opens the iron door there,Right goes to other part of city and you go down a hill and jump over a pit thats very deep (still riding minecart). Thats all i have but im planning to take pics.

*good ideas*
Theres a small problem, the mines even though their technically infinite and there is an infinite amount of them we would quickly run out of local coal, iron, diamond etc. This would be a terrible inconvenience because as we slowly deplete the mines around us it would take longer for us to replenish our stores because we have to travel farther and farther to get to the newer mines.

We could just go to a not to far away place from our region and allocate an area to start strip mining and just make a massive hole in the ground. Like how real miners do it :P You don't see very many breaking holes in the floor of our houses any more.

Man. You all are so much more patient with this. I haven't played since he went on break, and when i just started again i am so lost with all the new crap that I don't much feel like even playing yet. Weird. I am hoping Multiplayer comes out soon so I can leech off your guys's mine cart constructions because as of now I can't figure that stuff out lol.
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.
