Since we're sharing...

I built my tower-fort out of a nice half-arch I found. I added and subtracted rock to make it look neater and squarer.

View from across the lake. You can see the checker pattern of windows into my staircase. I like this checker pattern.

It takes about 90 seconds to climb up this waterfall and into my sky garden.

Also I learned how to turn off FPS.  :P

Through some large empty tunnels we come to a room overlooking this huge space I flattened and don't know what to do with.

An island of light in a sea of darkness.
Yeah, [Kishmond] came back from Africa, but the ponies have him now.

Guys, I just had a moment you might not be able to fully appreciate, but I thought it was downright one-in-a-million.

So originally I started off near a beach. I wandered around 'til I found those plains I mentioned before, quite a long ways away. Made a little base, dug a pit..
Then I figured I'd make a road all the way back to the spawn. Did that, but I stumbled on some caves.
Ventured through the caves for like two hours, far and wide. I find plenty of iron, a bit of gold, and an even smaller amount of diamond. By this point I'm quite fully loaded. I've got a stack of ladders with me, so I figure I'll dig a shaft straight up and finally be done with these caves.

And where do I pop out..

..but right in front of my little base near the pit.
I got lost pretty badly in those caves. The last place I expected to come out was anywhere near my base.
Had a good laugh. What a crazy coincidence.

Awesome.  It always does impress me how you can wander for hours in caves without actually going anywhere.

Well, Notch put out a new update.
You can ride carts and stuff, but there are a ton of problems I'm reading in the comments.

When you save, it may not do it properly; there's a chance you'll lose your inventory or items in storage, perhaps even stuff you've moved or constructed.
Performance has actually gone down for most people apparently in part due to Minecraft creating a whole ton of hard drive activity.
There are some bugs too.

I think I'll just wait 'til tomorrow. >.>

My suggestion is, if you really have to try them carts, to do it on a new save in one go.

EDIT: People are thinking maybe Notch played around with the level gen a bit..

I generated a new level and I was in a deathtrap. There was 2 or 3 lava falls, flat rock faces surrounding me, no way up. There were, fortunately, a few trees and I made stairs out.

'Cause, you know, Gauph totally didn't mention it already. Not that I play this game or anything, I'm flat freakin' broke right now.

The stutter would go away after a few minutes of just standing around as it re-created the world using the new file system.  After the stutter went away, I very rarely got stutter again, and I got a much higher framerate.

However, there were the problems with saving changes or inventory.  My 8MB save game became a 600MB save game.  So he's since reverted back to the old save system...which completely borked my game.  Saves that I played with the new file system, converted back to the old, and try to play again are totally unplayable for me now with all the lag.  And the 600MB file is still...there....

*runs off, deletes the data directory, tries again*  AH, that's better.  I guess it was still looking at that directory, but if it's gone it forgets about it.

Probably not a Goat, either.

Well, the dungeons are small (about the size of the old starter houses), mossy cobblestone rooms situated deep in caves. They have several chests in them with various things (I've heard about wheat, buckets, and saddles to ride pigs, among other things), and a cage in the middle that spawns mobs, either pigs if you're on peaceful, or enemy mobs when on easy, normal, or hard. You can supposedly pick them up and plop them down again, so that opens up the possibility of mob farms!

Yeah, a good chunk of people seem to be getting errors.
Just hang tight. Notch will probably fix it by tomorrow.
