the new level generator is cool and all, but it looks a bit... off. Something about it, maybe it looks too smooth or something. That, and the unusually surreal look of it.

I like it. The surrealness makes it less boring.

I found a tall rock spire in the middle of nothing and carved a stairwell in it and climbed up on top, there I constructed a sweet tower.

Then I fell down and died to death.

Did you come back to see your corpse?

It certainly was an unusual occasion, having to dig my own grave after I had died. Although I certainly have made a resolution NOT to fall down the stairs again.

Woot, lighting glitch fixed, planting torches and trees no longer crashes the game and monster + animal spawns in infdev, it's finally in the equivalent playable state of indev :D

Multiplayer infdev next

Yeah.  Caves aren't in yet.  He's still got a few other things left to do, like flowing water.

In his tweets he mentioned caves will be in before MP.  He'll probably get to caves when he optimizes the map generation.

Pork Chops no longer stack when you cook them...drat!

Those big trees are fun to burn down!  ;D

Put in a little pack with Wrapper clients for Indev and Infdev and the WoM Client for Online and Creative modes. They all require you to login so it's not warez!

Just saves you the trouble of playing in a browser :D

Being bored, I made this for the Minecraft forums, I think I'll share it with you guys too, if you're interested.

Quote from: Kitkat
pb=petabyte

E=Earth volume

km=kilometer, or 1000 meters, or 1000 blocks.

200pb for 8E map

25pb for 1E map

2500tb for 1E map

500tb for 0.2E map

25tb for 0.01E map

1E=10,832,100,000,000km3

1E=10,832,100,000,000,000m3

25tb for .01E map, 108,321,000,000,000m3 contained within.

211564453125 F3

F= Five-twelve, I.E. 512 meters, or "blocks". This means that for a map only a hundredth of the volume of Earth, there will be a single 32 terabyte server, which costs roughly 16,000 dollars (How much money has Notch made by now on Minecraft?). Inside of that map, in each direction, the map will be 211,564,453,125 F, and 512x512x256 is currently the standard large map, with the other being 1025x1024x64.

If every player of the around 12,000 paying players log on at once, they will each have, if I'm not mistaken, 17630371 512-cube maps TO THEMSELVES.

Excuse my math if it's wrong, it's almost 10:00 at night here, and I'm tired :P

And sorry for the hard-to-follow-ness of it, but i just scribbled it down with about five pages up, including the scientific calculator and another calculator, too.
