there's a huuuuge pocket though through one of the tunnels. Blocked that off with logs.

Yeah. Gauph was saying a bunch of guys were looking for lava and didn't find it... I don't know how they missed it. There is lava EVERYWHERE down there. Someone's double tunnel got totally flooded by lava and we managed to clear it out; however there was another huge pocket nearby that we couldn't take the time to fix.

Anyone going to be pre-ordering this?

It's going to be 20 euro full price, which is about $28 US. From his blog:

Quote from: Notch
Iím going to start up pre-purchases of the game soon, at a discount of the full price.

The full game will be Ä20, but if you pre-purchase while itís in alpha, you get it for just Ä9.95. If you wait until beta (ie when survival mode is released), the price goes up to Ä14.95. If you wait until release (after survival mode works well), youíll have to pay full price.

If you donít want to pay (or canít), there will be a free demo after beta. Either way, you will be able to play the game as you do now for free up until release. I will however include some benefits for pre-purchases.

Hereís what you get for purchasing:

* You help fund development of Minecraft.
* Custom skins in multiplayer, starting very soon.
* All future updates of the game, including all expansions and addons. You never have to pay again.
* Once youíve bought the game, itís yours. Do whatever you want with it!
* Survival mode

Expansions include (these will happen after release):
+ Zombie Siege
+ Capture the Flag
+ Various level importers. (Iíve already got a doom level importer working.. kinda. :D)
+ AND MORE!

Pie beat me to it with his short text!

Honestly $14 to pre-order a game that doesn't even have any gameplay features implemented yet?l

But you do know the features will be implemented. You'll support Notch, and keep him from getting bored of the project.

That's....not gonna work. You can't bring liquids up in the game.

Can you?

What he plans to be implemented, what he actually implements, and how well he implements them are entirely different things.

He seems to be very competent designer, but the fun factor could swing either way with this game.  I foresee the potential for a lot of griefing.  But if he pulls off a simple Dwarf Fortress gameplay model with resources and item/equipment crafting and building, all with multiplayer, it's a definite buy.  Still too early to tell.

People who are playing on the server... PLEASE try to be careful when you dig. Isolate your work area and put breaks in frequently. Jos and I had no trouble digging our tunnels across the map. All of the unflooding we've had to do (like unflood the same portion of tunnel THREE TIMES because someone doesn't listen) is being caused by people who are not being mindful of their surroundings.

So again, PLEASE take your time when digging.

There should be like a portable black hole device to remove water.
