Hey, so a friend and I are getting a Creeperhost FTB server. We have enough of our real world friends to cover the costs, and he gave me a go-ahead to ask if anyone else would be interested in going on it. Any takers?

Which FtB?

Personally I only have experience with Ultimate and DireWolf20, but I'd be down to play.

Also, where do you live?

Just a general location/country, I just wanna know if there will be significant lag.

Washington, but I'd think that the location of the Creeperhost servers are more important. For you, I believe you are lucky -- The closest server to the Werst Coast is in LA.

My friend is thinking of building up a custom pack, but I'd guess close to Ultimate or DW20.

What do those servers get you over just opening your own on your computer (assuming you have a system capable)? Is it really worth the money? How much are they charging you and how many backers do you have so far?

Well, with MCProhosting, which is what LadyM uses, the server can stay up 24/7. You can also control and edit the server from anywhere you have internet access.

It's worked out better for me this way since I travel so much. I can't keep a server going on my own so it's worth it to me. It's $10 a month, I pay for it myself and up to 15 people can be on at one time. So far so good.

For us, we don't have the processing power, or the bandwith to really comfortably run a server from our houses. It's going to cost us 13 dollars a month, I do believe, and we have three, possibly four backers to split the costs between.

There is, of course, a difference between having a laugh with someone, and having a laugh at their expense

Neat!

Also! I took another look at why my video was so dark.

Here is the same settings as the uploaded video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuOBYeo6ibw

And here are adjusted settings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz2VUxV5hnU

Hopefully that will be an improvement for any future videos.

In case you were wondering, this is what 1152 blocks (18 stacks) of nether quartz ore looks like:

It's a 5 x 5 x 46 array of blocks, plus two left over. Any bets on how much quartz I get after I use my fortune III pick on it? 8)

Edit: The answer is 2557 pieces (nearly 40 stacks) of nether quartz: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BJYF4FUCEAESp0f.png:large
