Must be pretty rare then because you're the first to see it, maybe we now have entire continents of snow

You know what would be great? An actual release. Or at least a release date that says: come hell or high water, 1.8 is being released on this day, whatever state it is in.

Yeah, I, too, would rather have a glitchy and unfinished update now than a polished and bugfree one two days later.

But you did get a glitchy and unfinished update, just under the pretense that it's a pre-release. And there will still be bugs when it is eventually actually released.

I just don't understand the huge departure from what they've done in the past. Or why they couldn't have the pre-release available from the launcher, like they said they were going to.

Yes, and it wrecked my minecraft. Not gonna do that again.

And not everyone wants to play glitchycraft, so it shouldn't be an official update.

Let me put it to you this way:

If they had released the pre-release as an official update, all the whiny kids who don't know what a beta means would flood the minecraft forums crying about how broken it was, the first pre-release had some game breaking and map destroying bugs, which have been fixed, the list of bugs has been severely decreased and the official release will probably come in 1 or 2 days, then we'll have a mostly bug free playable game for a while, and those kids won't complain as much.

Personally I'd like pre-releases every week before an update, it's a great way to find bugs and try out new stuff before the masses, and we help them release a better product
