New System of a Down Album.
« on: November 23, 2005, 09:59:55 pm »
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody had the new System album, Hypnotize and if so, what your opinions on it were. I think that it is a really good album, very different from their prvious stuff and not their best album, but still very good and highly enjoyable. Thx. ;D

I havn't heard everything from it, but some of the songs on there are amazing.  Espcially after you know the meaning to what they are singing.

It makes me sad becuase they have hidden meanings (Except straight forward ones like Radio/Video) in mostly all their songs but nobody ever listens to them for that.

Yeah its a pretty good album, I think Mesmerize was alot better though, the songs are more catchy. Im starting to get sick of the theme of their songs now, I wish they would just make a good metal album rather than a politcal stance album.
it was fun at first but its getting tired now.

I think it's kind of funny listening to some of them.  They are one of the only bands that can actually say "the government sucks" (Except maybe in a hidden way) and get away with it.

THough I do agree, I enjoy a lot of their older songs better, when they concentrated on other issues such as drugs, pollution, the media, stuff like that.

What is your overall favorite song from them?  I like the song Needles. :)

I bought it just yesterday, very cool album. I haven't decided whether I like this or Mesmerize most, but they're both great. :)

There are songs on that album that made my ears bleed, but then again there are some which really get to your soul.

How does this somehow remind me of U2 fans?

ya know, Ive been listening to this album quite a bit lately. And I've worked out that I really like it, and do you know why i really like? Beacause I like all SOAD songs, and this album has totally grown on me :)

They're good, but there are lots of bands which said "**** the government", especially during the Vietnam war. You shouldn't find too deep meanings in SOAD lyrics. Remember "Cigaro".

Are you kidding Cigaro has incredibly deep lyrics....oh...never mind...

Question, sugar, and forrest are my favorites, so awesome.

A great album sure, but compared to Toxicity and Steal, Hypnotize is so-so. Toxicity and Steal and the title album all had the "system" sound, not the same sound for every song. Enjoyable however.
