Clap If You Believe:A God Game
« on: April 21, 2009, 05:13:16 pm »
This is a metagame I'm trying out.  It's sort of like Black and White, but in the modern day.  Every turn is a day, and every turn you get one BP (Belief Point) for every person that believes in you.  You can create as many miracles as you like per turn, but you cannot get below zero BP.  Not because it kills you, but because you can't do it.

I'm going to help you out.  You're coming into a mind, a wonderful mind.

Welcome to Tommy Sellings.  He is an eight your old boy.  You came into being, power, real power, when you came into his dream.  Now you can use him to your ends...

Believers:1
BP:1
Miracles:
Change Color of Small Object (smaller than three inches)-1BP
Message (Give one sentence worth of information to one believer)-1BP
Research Miracles (Either discovers a new type of miracle, upgrades a current one, or cheapens a current one randomly)-1 BP
Do Nothing-0 BP

Research; we need better things in order to make people believe in us.

You think.  You think as hard as you can.  Through all of your effort, you become slightly better at your color changing ability.

Tommy has talked to his friends about you.  Many are not quite certain of your existence, but his best (and very trusting) friend, an Andrew Tom, has learned of you and believes in you.

Give Tommy a message to hold his pencil up near his friends tommorrow, telling them that you will change it's color bright flaming red.

Then do so when he holds the pencil up.

Tommy heeds your message, and holds up the pencil in class, telling all that it will turn bright red by your cause.  Kids are so cynical nowadays.  Most thought it was a magic trick.  Don't even ASK about the adults.  But a few kids are still idealistic enough to believe.  They are swayed.

Hints:You can use a Miracle more than once in a day.  Some restrictions may apply on this to specific abilities.  These restrictions will be found in the item description, if they exist.

Research, also, tell the original kid that he is our prophet and we shall change his appearance accordingly as we can. In that vein, until all of his hair is changed, use all unused BP for a day to change his hair to a glistening white color.

Unless you specify an ammount, I must assume that you intended to spend all of your BP researching.

At the school, gossip on the pencil has gained a few believers.

Change Color of Small Object (smaller than six inches)-0.9 BP

Faith Drain (Drains the belief of someone in their god.  Won't have much effect on the devout, but those who doubt their religion will slip further away)-20 BP
Low Range Temp Drop (Lower the temp by up to five degrees in a six square inch area)-5 BP
Do Nothing-0 BP

Make Andrew our prophet, and do a few more small tricks(repeat pencil, maybe?) to allow the faith to grow while spending 7 BP on research.
The best person ever.  She should have won the Peace Prize.

What? No full control over children? You do realize that some of us have particular plans for those children.

Make Tommy your prophet.
Give all your other followers the message "Listen to Tommy Sellings, he is my prophet."
Don't have him going around preaching, have him make you a web page and a paypal account.

Research some better "miracles."  Healing the sick or changing one material into another are good ones.

We should use Faith Drain in a place like a homeless shelter or cancer hospital... send the kid there with some sermon about how his god (us) let them get sick and destitute because they believed in the wrong god...

Use a name someone else already uses. Preferably a "pagan" one (You don't wanna be exorcised out of that child by the local priests because you're pretending to be someone they believe in, like an angel). When the people that believe in the pagan guy that you're impersonating, you'll gain quite a large fanbase in one quick swoop (without angering the local exterminators).

Also, yes, all of his hair gray, in front of the entire school. But make sure there's a ton of adults looking around. Preferably people that know a thing or two about medicine or biology.

When you're done with both, just continue researching. It will do wonders when you're trying to convince the cynical population in your town when you freeze the nearby lake solid right in front of them.
