Rise of Powers Part II (Conflicts)

Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

A few minutes ago, the Legit Assembly received a cryptic message from command ship Hukuopo, that stated that war was to be declared against a race known as the Supara.  Records were checked and crosschecked, and it was determined that they shared membership in the Galactic Trade Confederacy.  This was shocking to the Assemblymen and women.  The hall went into a frenzy, assemblymen yelling from across the room.
"What are they thinking?"
"Can this be real?"
"Who..."
"Why..."

"STOP!"  Chief Random Elect Zhukop came into the hall.  "There can be no doubt that this is real, the frequency is too perfect.  We need to mobilize our ships, and we should seek out those odd fellows, the Vykusi.  It clearly would be an advantage to get them on our side."

//From Chief Random Elect Zhukop to the leader of the Vykusi, we seek your assistance...//

Palace of Vyku

The leader of the Vykusi was a wreck.  Her world was falling into chaos, and there was nothing that could be done about it.  The Agents of Wi were getting more and more daring by the day.  Fire damage had all but destroyed the palace.  Servants of Om were getting killed in the streets, and she weeped over them every day.

~"Oh, can there be no end to this?  Why must my people suffer?  I fear for my life, but nothing can touch me, for I have too much protection for that.  No end in sight..."~

Just then her Personal Supercomputer chirped up, indicating a message.  She walked over to where it was resting, and opened up the message.

To the leader of the Vykusi,
We are the Milika, and we have been attacked by a race that was supposedly our ally.  Our forces are numerous, but the opponent is even more so, and at this point we are alone.  We wish your assistance.

~Zhukop, Random Elect of the Milika

~"What a world, that people are being needlessly killed.  Our space forces have suffered nothing of what has happened here on Vyku.  Very well, I will authorize the free use of any ships they need."~  She then sent a return letter...

Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

When the letter came through, cheering erupted in the Assembly Hall.  Zhukop motioned for their silence.

"This act of friendship by the Vykusi is victory for us.  Now, not even the Supara can harm us!"  And cheering erupted once more, and Zhukop did not motion for them to stop.

Grand Hive of the Supara, Supar

It was the largest connection of Cognosceres and Queens that the Suparan race had ever witnessed. The only reason was because the Suparan race reproduced so fast and in such great numbers that it was almost impossible to match anything that followed it. If this meeting had been held off for only one more day it was a certainty that the gathering would have increased by several delegates due to the fact that several Cognosceres were maturing in the Grand Hive alone.

The meeting had been arranged by the High Queen herself, and her many minions were quick to respond. And so, in this way the council had been formed to discuss the necessary actions that the Suparan race had to take.

"As you have all seen countless times, the memories of Cognoscere Therive have proven that these Milika are hostile creatures that did not stop down as ordered. While they put up much more resistance than anticipated, it is clear that they are truly weak and that the Suparan Swarms should be quick to conquer these creatures," the High Queen stated, addressing everyone through the connections of the Grand Hive. The number of delegates was almost too vast to fit inside the Grand Hive itself, an organism that stretched for several kilometers in all directions. It was truly a blessing that this connection could stretch across the reaches of space to connect so many.

"You have all been informed of the newly initiated mating frenzy. Almost all of the Suparan hives are now undergoing massive reproduction to increase our numbers. At the same time new strains are being bred and tested for effectiveness. Along with this several new ship designs have been planned out by several of the more prominent Cognosceres. One of these has been created specifically to deal with the shielding threat that you have all seen from Cognoscere Therive's memory banks."

When this was said, an image was sent through the large network. It showed a giant oval shield that was projected to span nearly a kilometer, with three tails sticking out the back. The longest was in the middle while two shorter tails stood on either side.

"These are designed specifically to board an enemy ships we may encounter. At the same time we will be able to take control of their ships and harvest any sufficiently advanced technology for our uses. Along with this we should gain large supplies of scrap metal to be used for the Hive."

Thoughts of approval ran throughout the Grand Hive as nearly every single Cognoscere and Queen analyzed the schematics of the new ship.

"Already several hundred are being grown along with a general expansion of our space fleet. As is common practice, any excess military left after the end of this war will be recycled for reuse by the Hive. There should be no fears of waste."

More thoughts of approval shot through the network.

"Soon reports of our scouts should be pouring in. It should not be long before the Suparan Swarms are unleashed and these Milika creatures crushed."

If the Supara could have cheered, they would have.

Suparan Fleet Arm I, Flagship Kulak

Cognoscere Therive had been 'promoted' in a sense that he was no longer on a simple cruiser. Instead he was part of the First Suparan Fleet Arm aboard the flagship of the Suparan race. But he was not the only Cognoscere aboard. There were a number of other Thinkers like himself. Several alone were needed to control the huge numbers of drones that the Kulak could carry. A few more were needed to coordinate the surrounding fleet effectively. Therive had been brought aboard due to his experience with the enemy and the fact that his small fleet of cruisers had been basically wiped out.

And from this new position he had a much greater connection to the rest of the Suparan race as the Kulak sported a much stronger communications system that could reach farther. So Therive watched as information streamed in regarding the several thousand scouts that had been sent to numerous systems. Every few seconds a new source of information connected with Therive, revealing more and more of the surrounding galaxy. It almost felt as if new eyes were maturing all around his body. It was a wonderful feeling. Now it was just a matter of time before Milikan systems were located and identified. At that point the Suparan Swarms would descend.

Fighter squadron 8576, Near Suparan Fleet Arm 1, Quasits

After the interception of the Suparan declaration of war on the Milika, the Quasits looked for information on both species and believed that the Suparan would be an excellent ally for the Quasits. They decided to join the Suparan in their war and sent half of all available resources and attached Orbita to the back of the largest Quasit ship, Gagrutan. Lending their aid to the Suparan the Quasits drafted Orizz into the Quasit military and opened up a comm link.
//This is the Quasit Empire we accidentally intercepted a transmission from a Suparan ship to Supar. We ask if you would want our aid?//
The squadron then returned to the main fleet as told and a new squadron was sent. Orbita was powered off and the Quasits waited for answer.

High Orbit, Planet Ju

The director, along with his small squadron of VA escorts, have just arrived in Ju's outer orbit. Hurriedly, the group of spacecraft landed at the designated area and promptly made their way to the assembly that was currently taking place.

Entrance to the Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

Standing in front of the main entrance, the director and his company composed themselves before entering the massive hall. Massive cheering were heard by the director and his bodyguards as they slowly made their way into the ongoing celebration.

It seems that we  got here a little too early. Nevertheless...

"If you would kindly, is it possible for us to request an audience with the chairperson of this great assembly, dear official?", one of the director's chivi bodyguards asked a nearby milika in an overly polite tone.

Deep Space, Unknown Star System, Suparan Scouting Drone
The brains of scouting drones were simple ones that allowed them basic controls over their bodies for maneuvering. In most cases they were preprogammed to go to designated targets and then return from where they had come, carrying information on everything observed in the system, be it radio waves, memories of things actually spotted, or unusual heat signatures where there should be none. And so this drone was no different.

As soon as it arrived out of warp, the drone carried out all the necessary scans, checking for concentrated radio waves, large movements of identifiable and unidentifiable objects, almost anything that was worth noticing. When there were several detections of what appeared to be unidentified ships in the surrounding area, the drone registered this and continued its scans, continuing its job until its orders were satisfied. When completed the drone turned itself around, pointing back the way it came, and initiated the warp drive back towards the awaiting Suparan fleets. All the while thousands of other drones did the same, collecting as much information of the star systems to bring back for the Cognosceres and Queens to look over.

Suparan Fleet Arm I, Flagship Kulak
It had been several days, but the reports were flowing in from all over covering the data collected by the many drones. Those that contained anomalies were set off into their own area to be poured over later. Cognoscere Therive was part of this group looking over all of the incoming information.

The largest two categories were the drones that had registered strange unidentifiable objects, those that had positively identified other ships (be they friendly or not), and those drones that had not returned at all, well past their scheduled arrivals. All of these were given a certain priority. Those that were at the top of the list called for a larger scout party. In most cases groups of 3-4 cruisers were dispatched to scout for those drones that had not returned at all or for those where there were registered anomalies. In the situations were there were positive matches with ships, an entire carrier group, which normally contained a carrier, two cruisers, and between three and four destroyers, were dispatched to find whether these ships were hostile, friendly or neutral. In several cases there were no ships at all, and only faulty data collected from the drones.

In the meantime, the majority of the First Suparan Fleet Arm hung in orbit over Supar, waiting for concrete evidence of enemy ships. It wouldn't do to have a large section of the Suparan navy chasing mirages.

Grand Hive of the Supara, Supar
The High Queen has just finished a large meal of assorted grub, collected from various planets around the Suparan Hive, when a message was brought to her attention. She instantly focused a full 10% of her attention on it. Apparently some race, they called themselves the Quasits, had intercepted several Suparan transmissions and wished to offer their support in the upcoming conflict.

If she could have laughed she would have, but because of her lack of emotions she could not. It was such a strange request, especially when this was the first contact between their two races. Even so, it was good to have allies, as long as they did not ask too much, and did not draw the Suparan race down. At this point it ensured that they would not be helping the Milika. Even though it probably wouldn't affect the overall outcome of the war, the Supara were not stupid; they realized that it wouldn't do to go around making enemies by insulting everyone, no matter how strange their traditions or beliefs. And so the High Queen drafted a message and sent it off in under a second.

//Greetings Quasit Beings,
Although were are not sure of your intentions, we do welcome your friendship. As you may already know, war is on the horizon against the Milikan race. As of now, all we require of you is any information to the whereabouts of these creatures. It would probably be best to keep your distance from the Suparan worlds and fleets, to ensure your own safety. It is hard to trust creatures, no matter their integrity, after only one simple message between our races.

Entrance to the Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

"The Chief RE?  He's currently in session with the Legitimately Elected Assembly, but I can take him a message.  What is your business?" asked the Milikan secretary.

Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

The cheering continued, but finally Cheif RE Zhukop motioned for silence.
"Do not let a small victory deceive you.  There is still a war to be fought, and lives to be lost.  Bomb shelters should be produced in every major city, and rebates issued to private peoples in rural and suburban areas so that they may build their own.  Scouts should be sent out to locate the Suparan homeworld, hit them where it hurts I say!"  Cheering erupted again throughout the hall.  Zhukop, however, had already set in motion the plans for victory...

???
An Undetectable scout was scanning the nearby systems for transmissions, however, a couple recent ones made the pilot livid.
//Zhukop, you better look at this...//

Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

The cheering went on for a couple minutes, when a transmission came in from one of the scouts he had sent out earlier.  Zhukop and the Assembly listened to the intercepted transmission.  After they were finished, the hall's ambient noise became that of a dull roar
"Quasits, who are they?"
"Are they powerful?"
"Genocidal?"
"Why did they bother?
It went on like that for a couple minutes before Zhukop was even able to attempt to calm them down.
"Whoever they are, however powerful they may be, remember, we too have an ally.  More may still come.  We must not jump to conclusions."  For once the hall was silent, there was nothing more to say.

Entrance to the Assembly Hall of the Legitimately Elected, Planet Ju

The Chivi looked back at the other officers, who were guarding the director from all directions. Seeing a slight nod from one of the Luzonian officers in the group, the Chivi quickly faced back at the secretary and told the Milika their purpose.

"Dear official, the current Chief of Staff of the GPA, Director Folizi Kazamadariya, would like to request an audience with the Chief Random Elect.", he said politely. "It has something to deal with the current situation regarding the Supara."

Assembly Hall of the Orealyianis Stellar Navy, Grand Hall, Tanariadne

"In summary, we shall perform a joint strike in the exact opposite direction of the Milikan front with the goal of delivering this special package to the Suparan nexus of control? Is that correct, Fleet Admiral Shanara?", a loud, booming voice sprang from Valgu -110's voice modulator and echoed across the massive, hollow interior of the assembly hall.

"Indeed, that pretty much sums it all up.", the admiral replied.

"And the rate of survivability?", the Chief of Operations asked in turn.

"That will depend on the number we're going to be facing on this venture, which is still anyone's guess.", he answered in a slightly uncertain tone. "However, we will do everything in our power to get that package to where it should be."

"Right in their faces, I presume?", the Chief of Operations said in as much of an amused tone as a monotonous robot is capable of.

"Eh... You can put it that way...", the admiral replied with a pair of smiles. "Then I guess I'll leave those guys to you... At least this way, the losses will be cut by as much as ninety-five percent, under ideal conditions."

"Indeed..."

Fiik

Word had been received from deep space probes that the Vykusi have sided with the Milika, a race unknown to the Fiikkal, in a war against the Supara.  The Fiikkal would never have engaged in war unless there was a legitimate reason.  You see, the Fiikkal are sly and sneaky like that, never to be trusted by anyone.  However, since this was a new galaxy, none of the races knew anything about there previous engagements.  Now there was a reason to join in a war against the Vykusi.  So they set up a plan for that to happen.  They began by reorganizing their military by building more ships and manufacturing more pod launchers.  Next they sent a fleet to the nearest Suparan outpost.

Outpost on the edge of Suparan space

As the fleet arrived at the Suparan outpost, a quick scan was executed to check for ships.  There luckily were none.  After that, they turned their ships bows to face the planet.  Should any hostile moves be made against the Fiikkal, they would activate their Pod Launchers and conquer the planet.

//Inferior Suparan things.  We have intel that you have joined in a war against the Milika, and in turn our enemy, the Vykusi.  We wish to join you, and you will accept us, or else.//

Entrance to the Assembly hall of the Legitimately Elected

"If there is nothing more, then you're all dismissed," said Zhukop after several minutes of silence.  The assembly people got up and went out the door, discussing this week's government gossip.  Vice RE Liounomo and third RE Juionoko were discussing plans feverishly about how to destroy the Supara, when they came upon a group of aliens.  Juionoko then approached them.

"I thought I made it clear that only Orealyianis would be permitted on Ju?!  You!" Juionoko said while pointing at the Orealyianis present, "You people can stay, the rest will have to leave the planet."  Can't people follow simple instructions? Juionoko thought.

"Hmm, it seems that there is a slight misunderstanding here...", the Director said as he approached the officials. "Felato, I'll handle this.", he said to his orealyianis bodyguard as he ordered him to stand aside.

"Pardon me dear Random Elect, but there seems to be a misunderstanding concerning my personal bodyguards.", ha calmly said as he bowed at the two milika in front of them. "They are simply here for escort duty and nothing else. The current matter will only be handled by me, the sole individual with administrative powers in this group, as agreed upon. However, if that is what you will, I can promptly dismiss the rest of them, leaving only my orealyianis bodyguard behind."

Main Bridge, Vara Orealyianis, Athanatsu System

The bridge officers stood up in unison and did the Stellar-Naval salute as Fleet Admiral Shanara marched into the main bridge along with his highly decorated escorts.

"It's good to be back in this old chunk of metal.", Shanara said nostalgically.

"You know, I heard what you just said.", said a high-toned voice from nowhere in particular. It was Vara Orealyianis' ship AI.

A figurative cold sweat came down from Shanara's head as he heard the AI take notice of what he just said. "Ermm, you mean the "It's good to be back" part of what I just said?", the Admiral said with a mix of slight tension and amusement.

"Nah, it's ok.", the AI said reassuringly.

"Well, umm... back to your posts, everyone.", the Admiral commanded the rest of the crew, at which they readily followed. "Open comms line number three-one-seven-three, Vara.", he continued while making his way to his station, which had a Terran-Ixian wobbler on it, among other things.

"Opening communications line number three-one-seven-three."

And with that, the room's central projector came alive as the image of a highly-decorated orealyianis officer came into view. This one was a whole level more stern than the Fleet Admiral. His stance was rock-solid and his medals pinned all over his chest with extreme precision, following some kind of grid plan for pins and medals instead of streets and buildings. This person was totally far from Shanara's slightly happy-go-lucky way of going about things.

"Greetings, Vice Fleet Admiral Zomile.", the Admiral said to the image in front of him as he performed a salute.

"Likewise, fleet Admiral Shanara.", Zomile answered back with a salute. "It's official then."

"Indeed.", Shanara replied with a lower tone of voice, denoting his serious stance regarding the upcoming war. "Well, I'll leave everything up to you until I get back."

"Rest assured, we'll hold them off with everything we've got on our side of the fight.", the Vice fleet Admiral assured Shanara. "I just have one thing to ask from you, Admiral."

"Yes. What is it?"

"This is a joint action with the GPA, correct?"

"Why, indeed. Yes it is a joint effort. The GPA is doing this because of direct orders from their head and the Stellar Navy is doing this as part of our nation's duty to the galactic community."

"I see..."

"Well then. I'm off to the rallying point. See you later. Over and out."

"Over and out.", the Vice Fleet Admiral said as he did a parting salute to the Fleet Admiral. Shortly after, Shanara closed the comms line and ordered the entire battle group to head to the designated rallying point, as agreed upon by him and the GPA.

Vice Fleet Admiral's Office, Office of the Stellar-Navy, Tanariadne

As the communications line automatically turned itself off, Zomile fall back into his chair and begins exploring deep into his own thought.

The Stellar-Navy and the GPA...

It's been quite some time now since the GPA allowed those large black spheres to join in on their club.

No signs of espionage or anything ever since that war ended, according to our nation's intel.

But still...

"No, I'm just imagining things.", he assured himself after snapping out of his trance. "I need a drink..."

"Yes, please dismiss them.  We have already been attacked by someone we thought was our ally, but the Orealyianis are our allies twice over, as are a couple others, but they seem unwilling to help us.  Once they leave, I'm sure there is business that you would like to discuss with me, Liounomo, and Zhukop."

"As you will.", he promptly signaled to his guards, leaving Felato behind as his sole companion in the Director's current venture.

"Well then, where do you wish to hold our discussion, dear Random Elects?", he courteously said to the three milika.

Grand Hive of the Supara, Supar

The Queen had been waiting and watching as had all the other Cognosceres available. Thousands of feeds were streaming across space, all to be read and poured over by her and her minions. It was during this time that a smaller, yet urgent message forced its way into her attention.

//Inferior Suparan things. We have intel that you have joined in a war against the Milika, and in turn our enemy, the Vykusi. We wish to join you, and you will accept us, or else.//

If the queen could have laughed, she would have. Immediately she drafted up a reply to her newfound 'allies'.

//Your intel has proven correct. Currently hostilities have been initiated against the Milika, but we are unsure of whom these Vykusi are. But if you wish to join us, then the Hive will accept. However, remember this. We are the swarm. Nothing short of a miracle could save your race if we decided to turn our countless numbers against your race. We are only accepting your offer, or demand depending on how you view it, because we have larger threats at present. At the end of this conflict, you will not be our ally, nor our enemy.//

And with that the Queen was back to focusing on the scouting drones, waiting for the first sign of an enemy presence.

Ju

"My office would be just fine."  Zhukop then led the Orealyianis down the hall, occasionally nodding at the others in the hall.  They went into his office, a large room with one wall as a window overlooking the city.  He went to get a chair, but thought against it, considering their size against a Milika.  So, he just sat down at his desk.
"As my subordinate, Juionoko, pointed out at the GPA meeting on Tanariadne, we are now at war with the Supara.  For whatever reason, they have not attacked Ju, but we are fortunate it is not so.  For them to completely disable the Hukuopo clearly shows their superiority," he leaded forward towards them, "I would advise that that not leave this room, no need to alarm the populace," he straightened up.  "Anyway, the Orealyianis are in a vastly different part of the galaxy.  If we use our forces on our respective sides of the galaxy, we can meet up at Supar, and hold those who started this accountable.  We know not his name, but the commander of the surviving vessel to attack the Hukuopo is our chief fugitive."  He then laid back in his seat, and awaited for their response.

"Rest assured, any leads to the suspect shall be forwarded to the office of the Milika.", the director replied. "As for the projection of our forces, their is something I would like to add...

There is a high possibility that the GTC will be greatly involved on the Milikan front, on the anti-Suparan side of course. Due to the Supara's recent actions, numerous transportation lanes have been greatly disrupted and tension is rapidly rising within the affected sectors, leaving the GTC no option but to protect it's own assets..."

"This could be quite beneficial if timed correctly with our own forces, which we shall make sure to our best abilities. If things go according to plan, it will provide the Milikan front with enough force to swiftly puncture multiple holes in the Suparan preliminary lines of defense. From the data we've currently gathered, attrition is highly unlikely until we reach Supar and it's nearby territories themselves.", he added. "Whatever the case, the Orealyianis front shall meet up with the Milikan front in the doorstep of Supar in as little amount of time as possible."

The director paused for a moment, contemplating his next set of words carefully before carrying on.

"However, there is something that I am quite concerned about...", the director suddenly changed his voice, his concern apparent. "The Suparan Swarm. Even with two multi-stellar organizations conducting massive surveillance, the density of ships in the inner Suparan territories is still anyone's guess..."

"Delays in the charting of unit concentrations will be one of the greatest hurdles in this operation...", he sighed slightly. "Nevertheless, endurance is the key and I'm sure no one will have a hard time in that department.", he assured the Chief RE.
