My Concept Creature
« on: November 21, 2005, 11:04:13 pm »
Hi, well I'm new to this forum but I've known about spore just as long as any (right before E3). I've been starting to create some different creature's that I've been thinking about for spore and I've come up with my first concept render one of my "bird" like creatures I will be able to create it spore, what do you guys think.

They are going to be a plant eating, herbivore. They are going to be a flying race and live on land...which is pretty much so far the only background I have for them at the moment.

How does it fly? I see a major lack of wings.

He isn't done yet, buddy, you try making a 3D Render in Maya on your free time (hence the word "concept"). Which I only have a few horus in the day, my other animations for my class's take too damn long. Hopefully I will be able to finish everything up before x-mas and have a few other concept drawings/models before the end of my winter break.

I have a couple other ideas of what I might want to do, thinking of making a few other strange looking animals...and maybe even some other video game creatures, we will see (spore is still a long way from done). I'll keep you guys posted once I get him textured and all that jazz.

I'm hoping since the creature editor seems to be a simplified version of a 3D animation program I will not have too much trouble putting my work into the video game and making some decent quality stuff that people might even want to use as there own creatures or to populate their own world.

I think that would be extremely interesting to see how well your creatures are doing in other players games, Will should think about implementing some kind of "stat" feature which will allow you to see how many computers you have "infected" and well your particular creature is doing in all the games. I mean considering how small the compressed files would be, that data should not be that hard to come by and I don't think would take that much work to figure it out (most of the game is mathematics anyway, procedural)

I actually love that idea, reminds me of the concept they have for that game "infected" or whatever for the PSP. Neat creature too  ;)

Cool bird, that's basically what I thought the dodo looked like.

Ha! Wings are for pansies, I think it should inflate itself using internally produced chemicals from the plant matter it digests so it can float to the higher reaches of the trees. In the canopy it would find safety from large predators and an abundant source of leaves. That beaks looks deadly, imagine if it dropped from 50 feet up and landed on something threatening it's tree. I suspect they would have large colonies so this tactic would be affective. Possibly even using the built up gasses to propel themselves gracefully through the air to a new perch.
-Just like Gaming Steve all of my ideas, suggestions, and comments are merely edjucated guesses. These are based on prior experience and current released info.-

Gas bags are for pansies! It should generate several hundred thousand volts on the bottom using internally produced chemicals et cetera.

The bird is cool.

A hundred thousand volts are for pancies! It should alter the texture of the universe itself and make it move!

Beat that! ;D
