Bioshock 2
« on: March 08, 2009, 05:40:32 am »
I thought it was time to make a topic for this game. Now that things is finally starting to happen.

Locations of Interest
The teaser from the PS3 version:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2hewPBQh0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2hewPBQh0</a>

And the interesting teaser site that got up on the internet few days ago:
There's something in the sea!
The website is frequently getting updated with new articles and pictures that hint on what the story will be about.

Story so far:
The game takes place about 7 years after the first game. So far it seems to be about someone or something that is kidnapping young girls at the age of 5-7. The thing or person that is behind the kidnapping has been described to have superhuman speed and strength and is wearing an oddly familiar miner helmet with red lights attached to it. Someone is making an investigation about it which hint that the new protagonist might be a detective or investigator.

I think this can become a pretty interesting game with a story just as good as the prequel. Sure we might not see some of main characters from the first game, but if you don't have a problem with new faces I think you're going to love this game just as much. I can't say anything else about this game since I don't know anything else about it, we'll just have to wait and see. :)

Enjoy! And now discuss!

(Keep the discussion civilised and motivate your love or hate for this game series :) )

I didn't like Bioshock, it's one of those Half Lifeish games where it's fun to play once but second time around it's rediculously boring.

On the site Pixxel posted, There was a paper with ''they're taking our daughters'' on it. The first thing that came in my mind was:

Bring your daughter, bring your daughter, to the slaughterrr! LET IT GOOO LET IT GOOO LET HER GOOO!  ;D

But about the game, i'm glad they took this thing into an entirely other direction. Well, at least, i hope they will.

Anyone else think it's too soon? I definitely would have been okay with another year or so on this. They're supposed to release it this year... :-\

Though the idea of a Bioshock 2 is even less appetising than the original Bioshock was, maybe this time around they might make a game that isnt trying to fill System Shock 2's boots. They might even come up with something more worthwhile. The usual gauge for worthiness still applies. The more they say things like "genre redefining", "revolutionary" and "realtime", the worse the game will be.
