Wow, I'm away for a few months and somebody steals my thread! (Just joking ;D)

Epididymus, an experiment in alien anatomy:

Trying a new concept for a neck, inspired by human anatomy.

Needs C&C

GuÓrdia Infernal (Hell Guard)
I met somebody (at another forum) who was in need of creatures for an adventure set in hell, so I came up with this. It's supposed to guard some hellish gates.

Needs C&C

Atl
Evolved in a planet that's almost completely covered by a huge ocean, these guys come from animals that used tho hide in the low, sandy atolls to avoid their predators. Underwater, they bend their necks backwards, lining their ellongated heads with their backs, and swim with their fins in a manner similar to dolphins.

Obviously, hydrodinamics are extremely important when designing their armors:

And now some cutesy...

Kri
A pet bred in several galaxies. Origin: unknown.

They were originally created for a "rescue the Kri!" mission, but I liked them so much that I think I'll keep making Kri varieties; so I'm putting them here in case anybody wants to make their own kinds of Kri. They're small enough as is, so there's no need to shrink them for adventures.
Needs C&C, already available in 5 colours.

Irk
Just in case you're using them in a mission, here's the Kri's natural enemy:

Needs C&C

Tips for customizing your own Kri:
-First you must add an extremely small mouth (oriented towards the front), and then put the head (really a bifurcated arm) on the same place. Otherwise the mouth will stick to the lower part of the head and screw all animations.
-Every minimal body/extremity alteration will make the head's shape change. To fix this, you should first reduce the head's main joint, move it down (the most you can), move the ears a bit up, and re-enlarge the main joint again.
-I reccomend not to change the colour in the 2nd tab of textures since the eyes will become two-toned and the creature will then look creepy and/or stupid.

LOL

A few more creatures:

Flechette

A generic enemy... I think the teeth make it look aggressive.
Requires: C&C, Exoskeleton Limbs

IHM

Another disembodied brain, but this time on top of its own small robotic body!
Requires: C&C, Mecha Parts

Yumn
A race that mostly use Augmented Reality to interact with their technology. The "tail" in the back of the head is a connector for private wired interfaces (vehicles, direct brain-to-brain pseudo-sexual connection etc).

Requires: C&C, Mecha Parts
<- PNG phail

And we'll end with something cute:
Wix
A hard-working race found in many empires' starports. Seems like they can't live without being continuously busy.
Nobody knows why, but the stripes and whirls on their skins seem to change colour depending on their jobs. Also, nobody has been able to understand their weird language (or find a bilingual Wix for that matter), so captains must interact with them via simple gestures.

Requires: C&C

No, in fact I've yet to see Avatar. Is there anything like that in the movie?

Nice coincidence, I actually took these ideas from Neuromancer, Shadowrun (pre-4th) riggers & deckers, and some 80s/90s movie which name I can't recall now (it was about this "direct brain-to-brain pseudo-sexual connection" through a biological device that kinda looked like an intestine, I think it was connected to a hole in the lower back... In case anybody else finds the name, tell me).

Well it's certainly not something Avatar invented, so Kitkat gets a pie of shame to the face.

*splat*

Well, you can't blame me, it is pretty similar. And with it being the most recent thing to steal use the concept (and it was the only thing I thought used it), I thought it came from that.

*wipes shame off face and throws it back at Gec*

More critters for your game!

Emperor Sea Strider

From Wayne Barlowe's art, later appearing in Discovery Channel's "Alien Planet" series.
Take a look at this video, around minute 3:40...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZeYYyotOTk
Requires C&C.

Daggerwrist

Same origin, low on detail.
Requires C&C.

Niktan Assassin

An assassin captain for all your stealthy adventure needs!
Requires C&C and GA.

Nano-Animals: Savannah

Plushies for Africa! The set is still incomplete, but I intend there to be the animals you need for a T3 planet.

They all require C&C.

Assim

Genetics gone wrong.
Requires C&C.

Erugga

A caterpillar!

Tentaklan

Asymmetry test #1. A generic alien.

Fongo

Asymmetry test #2. A walking fungus. Each unit is composed of several joined individuals.

Imitera

Asymmetry test #3. This creature looks like a tree to avoid its flying predators.
Requires C&C.

Somn

Dunno what was I trying to do here. I guess I was bored.

Oo

Time to get out of the egg, my friend...
It's a shame I got this pic with the eye closed. Looks way cooler when it's open.
Requires C&C.

Indeed, I was originally making a Caterpie, but some problems (the inability to paint the head thingy red) made me re-think of it as "just a caterpillar". I'll keep trying.

BTW, same technique:
