Steve, really great follow up to the last podcast. I'm totally hooked on Gaming Steve now, and one of the things I like about it is that the show's are really long. I drive at least an hour everyday in the car, so it's nice to have a long podcast to get me through the week.
Same here. Long commute, so I love listening to your podcasts in the car.
Regarding your comments about the 360 shortage, I'm not sure what is hard to understand. There is a maximum number of consoles a manufacturing plant can produce in a day. And there are only so many days from day 1 of production to 22 Nov. So a company can either move Day 1 up sooner, which apparently Microsoft couldn't do, or move launch date back, which would have meant Microsoft would miss the holiday shopping season. (which picks up big time the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. -- this week)
You can't just magically produce consoles to meet demand.
I definitely don't believe Microsoft would be holding back units to create demand. There are a lot of unhappy gamers who don't have a 360 today, and preordered. Microsoft does not want to make customers unhappy; they are not a stupid company.
