well i didnt mean infiltrate in a spy sense, more in a sense that theyd breed them and then drop them in other countries to get on their nerves

Yes, that's exactly what "the Russians" would do...

But that implys that there aren't any racist people in america or england.

The whole point of the film is that it's an allegory of the Aparthied; it's like a South African Animal Farm. Yes, there are racists in America and Britian, but we didn't have "White Only" signs in the 70's and 80's or ban mixed marriages. The Prawns simply appeared at the wrong time at the wrong place.
Yea you had them in the fifties and sixties, making it much better...

You missed the point of my post completely. Well done.

just watched it.

Good movie, only complaint is the "no I'm not leaving you here" , "go on without me" scene, I mean, seriously? they still make those? wow, i tried not to laugh, but it was definitely out of place to have something like that in there. also, yeah, I'm always annoyed by extremely humanoid aliens but whatever.

well, if they have humanoid shape that's fine, but when it's reached the point where you could just merge the two, you know something's wrong, also any alien that isn't a giant slug is too human in my book :P

if stuff that looks human can be alien then stuff that looks like a slug can be just as alien. >_>

Personally, I think they did a good job with the aliens. They made them look alien enough for you to not immediatly feel a deep emotional connection with them at the beginning, yet human enough for you to actualy sympathise with them once you start to see that family of them. Also "You're like us!" was extemely cute, as well as any scene with that little baby one. He's so hidious he's lovable.

I like them a lot as well, but I just have some sort of immediate prejudice against things like that.

If they looked like the Bugs from Starship Troopers - which defitely look alien and non-Earthy - then would you feel sorry for them or sympathise with them?

Also, yes, they do still apparently make those "Go on without me!" scenes D:

It was good and all, but there was something faintly unsatisfying about it. I think it was partly because it couldn't commit to a single style. It started off as a mockumentary, then that fell by the wayside and it became a conventional blockbuster, then it was a mockumentary for a few minutes at the end.

Limbs sure, but the whole leg-arm-torso-head configuration was too much for my human-pattern seeking brain.

also, you still have to admit that giant slugs would make much cooler aliens >_>

Not in the case of this movie.

That would simply ruin it. They are supposed to look human so you can connect with them.

Who would you rather have had, Christopher, or this thing?

That thing wouldn't be a refugee. It would crush those private security contractors with its mind and eat their brain stems :P
