Search for a PS2 RPG
« on: December 29, 2008, 06:52:44 pm »
My sister has finally moved in and with her comes a shiny new PS2 so I was figuring I'd get my hands on a new RPG game for it. Before any one says Kingdom Hearts, I have all of them and don't wan't to play them again. I did recently get valkyrie profile 2 for christmas, don't know if it's good but we will see.

So any one know of an awesome PS2 RPG that isn't easy or really short?

Bitte und Danke  ;)

Not sure whether or not it's easy or short but you may want to look into Persona 4.

I thought Tales of Legendia was pretty good.
Awesome soundtrack.

Dark Cloud 2 (don't worry about playing the first; it's irrelevant)
Rogue Galaxy
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter (hell, I thought it was hard; also, unrelated to the rest of the series)
Wild Arms 4, Wild Arms 5.. they don't relate to one another either.

Wow. I don't have that many RPGs.

Maybe try the Xenosaga series?

Ah, yes Xenosaga.

Awesome series. I highly recommend it.

Also, try the Shadow Hearts. The first installment isn't quite that great gameplay-wise, but it has a good amount of knowledge that would really help you understand the little things in the next two installments, just like how CoM helps you understand KH2 a lot more.

Personally, it's one heck of an awesome game! Though, you do have to do a bit of power-leveling.

If you're into SRPGs you should check out Disgaea (if you can find a copy) or there is also Phantom Brave.
I need a new tag.

Only if you haven't played the original MGS3.

Cool camera and all, but the extra stuff is kinda bleh.

Rogue galaxy is alright..sort of. The scenery is all copypasta and the dungeons are linear, identical corridors and the plot makes me cry blood from my arse. But the combat is fun except for that stupid shield-breaker gun you have to switch to, which breaks the flow of the battle. And some of the scenery actually is pretty cool looking.

Er. So maybe it isn't all that great. The weapon-combiney thingy and the poke-bug things are okay.
