  • Removes almost all the specific settings for the Grox relationships, making them just like the other Empires. Only three things are kept; they never surrender, they aren't angry if you break the Galactic Code.
  • This mod is not particularly recommended as it removes the challenge of getting to the center of the galaxy, but Spore is a sandbox at heart, even with notable linearity tacked onto it.
  • Other races will still get angry at you for allying with the Grox. This can be avoided by using the above fix package or Easy Going Empires.

I just want to note that the Idrive and the no galactic center limit work cumulatively.

Edit: Actually, I'm not sure whether I used BallLightnings version of those two mods which works with 1.3 or the other ones. In any case, I think the older ones might work okay with 1.3

Oh yea, DarkDragon mentioned on his thread that the foot rotation mod and the eyes on everything don't like each other for some reason and are incompatible with each other.

You should add a Galactic Superdrive, enabling you to go from any point in the galaxy, to another point in the galaxy.

You should add a Galactic Superdrive, enabling you to go from any point in the galaxy, to another point in the galaxy.

While that is possible, it is very hard to see a star on the other side, and it is very hard to fly to a star you want to go to. However i'll see what i can do.

FF does have a point though. If you're zoomed out too much you can't see and click the stars, even if they are within travel radius.

How about a mod that allows you to mark stars, and adds in an autopilot feature that lets you automatically travel to a star you marked*?
*At normal speed.

that won't work, because if your zoomed out too far, it won't even give you any info on a star, or let you click on it. this kinda became a problem for one mod i used that made the interstellar drive go 45 parsecs max.

Actually we can make it so you can see all the info, but that far out you wont be able to choose the star you want as when you move the mouse very slightly it goes over 20 stars and it keeps changing between them, however i can create a item maybe which lets you go over there then you change to a lesser version so you can control your final jump.

Any new mods for GA?

Obviously UFO, you haven't snuck into Micheal Bay's house and stolen his version of Citizen Kane. Giant radioactive exploding ninjas are the least silliest parts.

I downloaded a mod and put the package file into my Spore\Data folder, but nothing changed, not even when I create a new game or even savegame. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have GA?

Have you updated to Patch 1.5?

What's the mod supposed to do?

No.

Dunno. Sometimes Spore asks me to update and I press ok, but I dunno if it has updated to Patch 1.5 yet.

It's the Sandbox mod, #31.

The mod may be incompatible with one of the new updates. I know a lot of mods got broken with 1.4. How old is the mod? If its over 6 months old, it might have been broken.

I dunno... The last edit of the original post was from January. >_> Therefore it is older than 6 months...

So...

Does anyone know a more recent mod that does the same?

Sandbox mod... Never heard of it...

What exactly did it do? Did it add tools? Parts? Gameplay Changes?

It is in the original post. >_>

  • This mode make the game more creative. It increase the spice cost, the number of trade routes, made all the tool unlimited with 1 second recharge, increase complexity editor, increase the payment for the mission (15x), you can travel in the center of galaxy.

I can't give you links right now, but BetterSpore should take care of most of those, with Freelance mod taking care of the mission payment and the trade routes. I can't recall a mod for all unlimited tools, though... Try Mayflower and Santa Maria (they give you unlimited colony and social tools, respectively). There's also probably a "no galactic center limit" somewhere out there if BetterSpore doesn't take care of it...

As far as I know, Betterspore doesn't give you unlimited ammo for tools and an obscene amount of spore bucks.

Both is required to make the Space phase fun. >_>

Don't worry, they're compatable. I actually have them running on my machine as we speak.

Oh sorry, I just read Betterspore. Well, thank you very much, I'll try them out! :)

Tried them, didn't work.
I even renamed the mods as stated on the xspore site, but didn't help either.

Hmm... I'd ask around on the SporeBase forums (Don't mind the huge shoutbox at the top...). They're way more knowlagable about Spore Mods than I am... There was also another mod site, but I can't find them now.

I would like to request the following mods that don't require the full game, just the CC.
-A mod to remove complexity limits COMPLETELY.
-A mod to expand test drive mode... A LOT. I'm talking a full demo of how your creature would play in the actual GAME.
-MORE PAINT STYLES.
-A mod to add tribal, civ, and space clothing to the Creature Creator.
-A mod that automatically adds all the parts of any creature you download to your database.

That is all.

Number one I can do, two, three and four aren't possible, and number five negates the purpose of buying EPs, and is thus piracy.

It's not infinite, but it's still pretty high.

There are so many mods I want soooo bad - some compleat idiot questions: do they work on Mac, which generally has more Spore issues?  And where are the sites for this, the links for what I want are older and broken - I'll check BetterSpore.

Should I do an AppCleaner + reinstall first?  With the routine issues, it sounds smarter...

Also if I see the answer to everything at betterspore, apologies + thanks!

Screw running this game on a Mac. Just use bootcamp and run it under Windows 7 or something.

You can install mods on a mac-I've done it, at least-but I forget how. You can find a guide on the internet.

And what if you don't have Windows, eh?

It runs okay, if by okay you don't mean perfectly - and that took forever, thought I'd never get the game to even open, after more reinstalls than anyone could ever count.  It's worse on Mac, but I don't want to buy Win7 - and Vista, the first one or whatever, is exactly what got me my first Mac, cause I needed a computer instead of a paperweight - wow that thing was bad, no one could exaggerate it @_@  lots of new Mac customers from it.

Spore definitely has more trouble with Mac - but I killed bootcamp, XP pro looked so bad on my hi-def widescreen it hurt, never used it.  Spore is actually under a different account, that's what tech support figured out after weeks of trying to solve several major problems.  There's an occasional crash, but really not that many.

There's a video at sporebase - even the tutorial for installing mods wasn't easy enough, I'm so techlame, but the video is amazing, what every tech dummie needs, and apparently they're okay on Mac - will find out more, mods, finally.  Maybe I'll even stop cussing Maxis idea of game design in-game, which would actually be amazing  XD
