Jumping ponderously off the halftrack, Broadside deflected an incoming RPG with a broad wave of his hand and sent it on an erratic trajectory onto a distant sand dune. A moment later a raider car came hurtling towards him, bracing himself for the impact, he grabbed the bonnet with both hands, each palm like a junkyard crane, and swung it over his head with all the strength and magnetic repulsion he could muster, it clipped the top of the truck and sailed through the air, landing nose first in the sand and driving in so deep that the entire front was obscured. Momentarily dazed, he failed to intercept a home made sticky bomb hurled by one of the raiders who had managed to bail before the car had been junked. Hurling himself away, he was carried by the compact explosion as it punched a neat hole in the truck's armour, no real structural damage, but big enough for a small man to enter without difficulty.

With a artful back flip the woman jumped off of bike and landed nimbly on her feet. The mini-sandstorm barreled down the length of the convoy and knocked everyone off of their feet. Her bike continued onward, carried by the wind, and came safely to rest some distance away. She pulled two machine pistols from her waist and marched toward the half track, unloading on the two large men as she moved. Rookie rolled onto his side and looked toward the newcomer. He cringed as he saw her and began crawling the other way.

Consulting his map again, Harland made his way out of town towards the east. During his stay in this small town, he had heard talk about the town eccentric who claimed to know weird things from before the Reckoning. Word had it that her house sat on the ruins of something important, but she never let anyone see it, but she'd always talk about it whenever she came into town, never anything else. Trudging through the lawless land outside of the walls of the town, Harland slowly made his way towards a small house he had only three vague descriptions on where it was. The midday sun beat down harshly on his head and the cooling breeze was sharp with sand which made fanciful patterns in the air as it was swept along. After about a half hour of walking, he found himself at a what appeared to be a rundown shack. Walking up to the door, he knocked on it.

"Hello? Ms. Enkleberg?" he called out.

No reply. Trying the doorknob, he found it unlocked and let himself in.

"Eh, excuse me? Is there anyone home?"

Again, no response. Sighing to himself, Harland closed the door and started to explore the shack.

Alex had been following Harland for abut half an hour. He seemed to be interested in a small, uninteresting shack in the middle of nowhere.

When Harland entered the shack, Alex flew around to a small window facing the main door and landed on the windowsill staring in the window, examining Harland, looking for weaknesses. He didn't seem to be particularly well armoured, but Alex knew he was armed with the sword.

If he decided to engage him, he'd need to protect his identity at all costs. He knew his fighting was much improved the closer he was to human form, so  he'd have to be imaginative.

And then, there was the matter of his brand. When he changed, his mark, the three circles, changed with him. It was his doorway back to human form. There was a possibility Harland might recognize it, as he no doubt knew a lot about the history of the continent. He couldn't risk getting himself associated with the Knights. He needed strength and stealth.

It was settled. He would wait for nightfall.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

Rookie felt a hand haul him up by the neck of his armour and looked up at the mask of Command.
"Where do you think you're going?" she said, forcing a machine pistol into his hand "Get back into it!". Releasing her grip she ran to her next target.
Broadside picked himself up ponderously and turned his attention to the truck, batting away a stray grenade as he noticed the newcomer heading purposefully towards the hole in the truck. Grabbing a grenade, but not pulling the pin, he punted it at her head, hoping for a knockout blow. She hadn't shown any signs of overt aggression, so killing her would be a strict breach of Raven policy.

Saladin woke up, the sun hurting his eyes. It was another day in the desert. He stood up and looked around. Then after some stretching and smacking his pants to get the sand out he checked out his storage box. Two bottles of water and some rabbit from yesterday. He started sucking out energy from the surrounding air to get a jolt. It was like coffee... Only it wasn't liquid and as far as he knew, only he could do it. Now revitalised with energy, he started making a fire to warm up the rabbit. After a few minutes it still didn't work and he didn't have enough energy left to start a fire with his powers. So, he relaxed all of his muscles and started taking in as much heat from the air and the sand as he could. Like a rabbit on crack, he started twitching. All of the energy surged out of his body, and concentrated on a small spot on the wood... It ignited. He quickly threw on some timber.

After minutes of hard work, Saladin could finally start eating. He realised he should head out to the closest settlement. Worries for later, he drank one of his remaining bottles of water, packed everything up, and put it in his oversized backpack.

"It's only your virginity, loosen up!"

The woman tossed one of her guns upwards and plucked the grenade out of the air with her free hand. She yanked the pin out and threw the live grenade back, a burst of wind propelling it. Catching her gun, the woman continued toward the half track. Another strong gust crossed the convoy and kicked up a blinding cloud of sand. As it settled the woman was nowhere to be seen.

"R-right..." Rookie mumbled, taking the pistol "Um I... that person... never mind."

Rookie headed back towards the half track and unsteadily held the gun in front of him.

Still sitting behind his car, Marty cursed slowly under his breath.  That damn woman in black was back.  ****!  As the wind died back down, he sank behind cover.  Hopefully that woman on the bike would prove enough of a distraction to keep them off of him for right now, give him a chance to think.

Options time…  He could sit there and get caught, make a break for a jeep and get caught, or head for the truck and get caught.  Odds were against him, but ever the optimist, Marty decided to risk it.  After one last quick glance through the shattered window of his car, Marty leapt up and booked it for the nearest, still intact jeep.

Andrew pulled himself back on his feet just as a live grenade flew past his head and struck the side of the half-track, peeling the roof back like a tin can.

"Great, the Biker Girl has wind powers.  Figure out where she went and-"  Out of the corner of his eye, Andrew saw a figure running toward one of the other vehicles.

"HEY!!  Broadside, secure the half-track!  You! get away from my jeep!" He yelled, charging after the raider.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Nudging his returned grenade aside, Broadside ran a short distance and used a quick burst of magnetic attraction to the halftrack to supplement a leap and launched himself into a flying tackle, aimed to bring down the mysterious wind-empowered woman.

At this point, the raiders were all but broken, a few were firing wildly at the mercenaries as they retreated on foot, or turned their vehicles round as quickly as possible and fled over the dunes.

Running full tilt towards the jeep, Marty suddenly heard a might bellowing from behind him.  Whipping his head around, he quickly caught a glimpse of the clay giant bearing down on him.  Knowing better than to think he could outrun, he turned to face the behemoth.

Thrusting out both hands towards him, the air between the two seemed to shimmer and warp.  Slowly but surely, the wind’s effect on Andrew escaladed, and months of erosion began to hit in mere seconds, the effect increasing with every step he took closer.

The woman lifted her visor and looked over the large assortment of goods in the half track. It was an eerie place, the air felt heavy and ominous. Part of her wished she could take it all but she knew what she was there for. Plus she was getting strange vibes from at least a few of the containers. She approached a thin shock-proof case and shot the lock off. With a gentle nudge she flipped the top open and stared inside. Dozens of sparking rings were lined up in prefect rows and columns. She slowly ran her finger down the rows until she found what she was looking for. It was a simple wooden ring with a highly polished exterior. The woman picked it up and brought it close to her eyes. Across its surface were hundreds of tiny symbols that she could not read. She also noticed that the ring felt warm in her hand. Satisfied that she'd gotten the right one, the woman replaced the ring and shut the case. She took the case in her hand and turned around. One of the large men had gotten up and taken a flying leap at her.

A hurricane force wind surrounded the woman and flooded out of the half track. It enveloped the large man and tried to push him back from whence he came. Unfortunately his weight was too great for him to succumb to the attack completely. Instead he crashed to the ground a short distance away from the woman. She quickly vaulted over his large body and took off toward the back of the convoy. Rookie watched as the woman raced towards him and glanced around. As she passed he tackled her and the pair rolled down the embankment along the side of the road. They came to a stop a short distance away from the main conflict. The woman looked around for a moment, the case had fallen out of her hand.

"Looking for this?" Rookie laughed, holding the case up for the woman to see "I'm not letting you take this back to Dad."

"Dammit!" the woman cried "What the hell are you doing out here, Geoffrey!? Give me that!"

"Sorry Delilah!" Geoffrey said, kicking a load of sand into Delilah's face and breaking into a run.

"Geoffrey!" Delilah spat, clutching her eyes "Dammit! Where do you think you're going to run?"

A strong gust of wind came down from the top of the hill and brought Delilah's bike down with it. She got to her feet and shook her head a few times to get the sand out of her eyes. Geoffrey was already a fair distance away but he wouldn't get far. Delilah jumped onto her bike and started it up. A wall of sand kicked up behind her as the tore off after the young boy.

Broadside grunted and stuck out a hand against the woman's bike as she attempted to retreat. The wheels squealed and span, uselessly digging into the sand as the bike strained against his pull.

"Little... help" he grunted, bracing his feet wide to kep the bike from dragging him forward.

Delilah frowned and kicked at the large man's hand.

"Dammit! Let go of my bike!" she screamed "If I don't get that boy we'll all be in for it!"

Meanwhile, some distance away, Delilah's boss was standing on a helipad. Behind him the sounds of merriment could be heard coming out of his casino. The man, Flavian Brady, stared straight forward and remained silent. He was mulling over the events of the morning. He tugged at the brim of his hat and pointed at the helicopter pilot.

"Yes sir, Mr. Brady, sir?" the pilot jumped up.

Flavian pointed over his shoulder with his thumb toward the helicopter.

"Right away, sir!" the pilot shouted before running off to prepare the chopper.

A pair of heavily armed wastelanders, a man and a woman, walked up to Flavian. They were armed to the teeth and appeared extremely adept at whatever it was that they did.

"Delilah hasn't checked in yet." the man reported.

Flavian nodded.

"She could have run into trouble. Raven Company is top notch." the woman added.

Flavian nodded.

"However this mission is a top priority. We can't leave anything up to chance." the man said "If we have to go in and finish the job, so be it."

"Yes. Mr. Brady, what do you think? Should we go in ourselves or should we wait for Delilah to check in." the woman asked.

Flavian looked off to his left and tugged on the brim of his hat.

"As you suspected, sir..." the woman added "Delilah has been visiting her dealers more often. If she's been compromised..."

Flavian turned and nodded, then began walking toward the chopper. He sat down in the rear, the man and the woman taking the seats on either side of him. The pilot have the trio a thumbs up and the chopper lifted off into the sky.

"The wind is in our favor today, sir!" the pilot yelled "We should be there in no time!"

"I'm on it!" Ethan spat, as he turned towards Broadside and focused on the bike. As he muttered the incantation, ice began to form around the wheels of the motorbike, freezing it to the ground. It wouldn't hold for long, but it would be enough for the rest of the Mercenaries to deal with her.

As soon as the spell was complete, Ethan dashed off after the Rookie, mentally preparing another spell to slow him down. The mission was to protect the cargo and he wasn't going to let that fool jeopardise it.
