Tattoos on fish (not tattoos of fish)
« on: December 04, 2008, 08:01:45 pm »
This is a odd and obscure question, but recently they have begun to put tattoos on aquarium fish and I was wondering what other people thought of the practice. I don't expect most of you to really care either way, but just for the sake of discussion, what do you think of tattooed fish?

This one has tattooed lips to make it look like it has lip stick on

or hearts

There are also ones with words like "love" "wuv" and "Hi"

Do we really find animals so boring now that we feel the need to draw on them to make them appealing?

I think it's kinda cool... Only because this opens up the possibilities of tattooing eels.

But but... tropical fish are generally already brightly coloured and cool to look at... I mean, what next, tattooing parrots!?!

It would be more like dyeing them because the feathers cover the skin, so... can't really tattoo them. I suppouse you could tattoo the legs.... and the beak...

They will probably die soon.

Fish die at the drop of a hat.

Not related to childhood trauma at all.
Yeah, [Kishmond] came back from Africa, but the ponies have him now.

How did you tatto those fish? Where they genetically modified to have those patterns, or did you use some special technique to make them those colors?

Yeh, but they are expensive, most people have freshwater fish.
