What do you think of the practice of putting tattoos on fish?

That’s stupid and tacky.

That's just stupid. I mean, we already have about a bazillion types of fish that are more colorful than five rainbows put together, why tattoo them?

Anyway, that's my two cents.

It's called sticking a needle in their flesh.

Wouldn't that stress the fish to the point of death?

Not if you sedate them. I know the Japanese have a technique to sedate them, so their flesh won't stress out during transport.

I think it's unnecessary and kind of cruel.  Why would they want tattoos?

Are you talking of the fish or the people who own them?
If you are referring to the fish then it wouldn't matter since they don't have a higher form of thinking to care if they had them or not.

Referring to the people; to show off, though I don't know how tattooing a fish really accomplishes anything. That is... if it were a Zoidberg tattoo >_>

But like many of you, even if sedation was involved, it's cruel and unusual form of showing off your worth. Jesus why can't people compare penis sizes or something..
Kid: Oh wow I'm being deflowered by a grown woman!
Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

Wow. I have lost my faith in humankind. OK, perhaps that was a bit dramatic. I've lost my faith in most of humankind.

Well, this doesn't really concern me, as I have no fish relatives or know fishes, so I'll just ignore this thread and wait 'till it dissappears 'neath the other threads.
