Oh wow, you have my sympathy then. Downloading things on mine is like pulling teeth, I couldn't imagine it being any slower good God.

I was poking around the internet, and couldn't find any answers, so maybe you guys could help me.

How much throughput does the phone line have? I'm wondering because since I have DSL, and it goes over the phone line. I doubt it goes very far on that, but still, it's a bottle neck.

I should know this since I work with networks all the time.
I'm asking because since I'm paying for 12mbps, I want to get my moneys worth.

Any thoughts?

*Edit*

Ok, found this:

"How To Speed Up Your Broadband DSL Throughput"

I might need to do some rewiring...

*Edit 2*

Woot woot! Internet just went out, and came back on. Looks like I'm upgraded  :)

Still wish I was getting my full 12 instead of 10, but that's double what I had.  ;D

I'm so out of date with technological trends right now. I wish I knew what the current hypothetical max obtainable 'speed' was. What with 100 Mb/s right around the corner in the Home Market (I'm sure Pat can attest to those rather annoying Comcast commercials about Comcast's "Xfinity" service) and the emerging '4G' wireless platforms (with speeds rivaling and/or exceeding home market counter parts), it makes me wonder if how close are to hitting the technological and what the theoretical limits are for existing technologies really is. I suppose this isn't exactly the thread to ask that question, but looks at some of these results and thinking about where we were just 5. 10, and 15 years ago makes me wonder.
