Weird animals subsection.
« on: November 13, 2005, 07:20:20 am »
Okay, it's a little bit ambitious, but I want to include a subsection on the Spore Forum.

Here people would post REALLY WEIRD but REAL creatures. Could be used as a reference for make Spore creatures, also to illustrate that the world has many WEIRD creatures already.

First up : http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0007385.html The Shoebill ! (EDIT: Nice picture) http://www.city.chiba.jp/zoo/joy/2005/shoebill02.jpg

I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

What I'm wondering is what that creature is called at the bottom right of the picture.

http://www.parascope.com/en/cryptozoo/predators09.htm

Thylacine where known for having a very wide opening jaw.

It looks a bit like a slow worm (although they are lizards)

I've heard of something called a congo eel which is somewhat similar to that.
