Does anybody else think it's a good idea to move the galaxy map and the timeline to the front page?

Sure, why not?

Just advise everyone that the coordinates shouldn't really be bound by it too much.

Hey, I don't know if it's just me, but I can't seem to find anything on the Perrachi's military assets. Weapons, vehicles, starships. I can't find anything. IS there anything, or am I just over-looking it?

You're right, there isn't much. Starships you'll have to wait for, but I can give you a quick rundown on weaponry if you'd like.

I might have made an obligatory Eurasia/Eastasia joke here, but I won't. Instead I give you this tidbit: Room 101 was the room at the BBC in which George Orwell suffered the torture of long, boring meetings. Now you'll never be able to take Big Brother seriously again, especially when you consider he's obviously just someone's older brother in a 3-way game of Risk.

Do you guys want ships or weapons? If it's ships, then kindly point me to the nearest 3D program which excels in the digital manufacturing of such images.

Interesting.

He must really hate that room.  ^^

DoGA L-3.
It's kinda hard to work with at times, and it's learning curve is steep without a manual. I just figured out how to do bumpmap textures after, what, 3 years of using this program?
Sketchup would be a better program, it's more flexible. You work with premade parts in DoGA, kinda like the Spore editors, be that the best comparison I can find for the program.

DoGA is a very simple program to use, but can be somewhat limited. I've found, however, that simple models in DoGA can be exported to a file type which Sketchup can then import, so you might want to try out both.

I mainly use DoGA dur to the ability to sort of "rapid prototype" ideas. You can make a simple proof of concept in 3D very fast.

The Socialist Republic of Zal

A mere 18 light years from Nupis, the Korshi system's third star had been identified as a likely candidate for alien Perrawiih-like life for a century. When the Kratairian Republic traded the Perrachi Empire advanced hyperdrive technology in exchange for a very comprehensive history of their species, interstellar expansion began within a month. The process was further sped up by prior frustration over the secrecy the goonals place around their rare warp drive, a fact which became apparent only a short while after first contact in 3509. Zal became one of the first extra-Nupisian planets for a perrachi to set foot on in late 3510, and the Perraforming process was started shortly. The phytoplankton-like jep were some of the surprisingly few Perran plants able to survive in the Zalian biosphere, but non-sapient animals still remain nearly nonexistent.
Zal became on of the most important worlds for the Empire, and the site of the official headquarters for the Imperial Space Force. Leading up to and following the Socialist Revolution in 3517, it was also a hotbed for Socialist activity following the absolutely massive waves of migration from Perrawiih to the colonies. In 3515 a new governor was elected known by the name of Dimikos Talin.

Only 70 years old as of now, this perrachi was a prominent senator in the Chervan Empire but fled south when the World War broke out. He migrated to Zal in 3512 and after his years of political dormancy ran for the position of governor and won. Charming and influential, he smoothly talked his way into the place of a highly esteemed person. Following the Socialist Revolution in which he was an active participant, Talin was elected the first and only President of the fledgling Perrachi Socialist Republic. Though it appeared that the PSR had a bright future at first, Talin may have been interested in other species too much for his own good. Studying the political and moral systems of neighboring species, he concluded that the only way the slakos and makal people could be freed from their dictatorship governments was through aggressive negotiations, or liberation as he liked to call it.
The majority of perrachi, slakos, and makal viewed the liberation/invasion/revolution favorably, but surprisingly most of the rest of the galactic community disagreed and thought of it as an illegal act of aggression. The Talin Administration might have reacted better and informed the Galactic Protection Agency that they were mistaken in a polite manner, but rude and dismissive refusals to talk on Talin's part helped lead to a full-scale invasion by the GPA. Although the new Slakos Democracy and Makal Commune survived, the PSR did not. It collapsed within a few months and was torn apart by infighting between several factions. For a year the Interstellar Civil War raged while the rest of the galaxy stood by and watched.
Finally, a peace treaty was agreed upon. The ten major star systems would become independent nations, while the rest of perrachi space would be governed by the Perrachi Scientific and Industrial Dominion. Talin fell from grace everywhere but the Socialist Republic of Zal, where he remains President and approval ratings are high. But his charming exterior has crumbled away in the face of what happened, including the death of his friend and Prime Minister Akdi Khadenin. His ideals are considerably tarnished and eaten away, and the Zalian government is probably the second-most authoritarian in all of perrachi space. It should be noted that although a perrachi would find the government repressive, to a human it would seem relatively lax and about on the level of the USA. Interspecies comparisons are difficult and not always perfect, though, so take that with a grain of salt.
Dimikos is prohibited from entering the territory of any other perrachi nation except Tzhan, not to mention the United Goonal Provinces, the Photos Empire, the Zeront Republic, the Milika Lotterial Government, and all of the Sector Protection Agency. In spite of this he is still popular on Zal itself, and is currently working on a series of combination memoirs and explanations of political theory. The economy is strong from trade and so is the military, which is second only to Nupis in size and firepower. Bitterness and resentment runs deep through many perrachi in the Korshi system, so foreigners don't stay for long.

Woah, that planet is sick!  :o

Reminds of this person's work.

What did you use for that, Kit?  ???

Bitter(?) Talin is bitter, huh?

RIP Khadenin.

And "Authoritarian on Perrawiih" = "Democratic USA" ? I wonder how they'd react to Dear Leader's regime, or to the Photos' "housecleaning" methods, for that matter!   :o

In any case, the PSID is... big. They really omnomnom'd the pieces, huh?

One thing's for sure, though. Witty and sarcastic navigators are gonna have a field day with one of those core worlds.

His mourners were a bit scattered, except for the Teroclidans. They were pretty much unanimous in their grief, from the capitalists to the anarchists. Someone like the modern father of a nation transcends political divisions. It runs deep through their veins.

Keep in mind that the nothern powers of the World War were ruled by some pretty oppressive regimes, in particular Carthata and North Teroclida. The horrors of their existence made the whole species very sensitive to authoritarian governments. The widespread censorship and media blackouts within the militaristic Photos state has made diplomacy pretty strained, especially when you consider that the Photos are on the other side of the galaxy and they just stomped around Perrachi space like they owned it. Oh, and remember that the USA does have wiretapping, racial profiling, defense of widespread white-collar crime, plutocratic government, etc. It's absolutely nowhere near North Korea, but also far from perfect.

The PSID's maximum diameter is only about 100 light years. The RG is 9,000 across, and our Milky Way is 100,000. It's big, but not that big. Remember that over 99% of these systems are unexplored, making piracy a pretty enticing option for a viable career - as well paid exploration by the government! Wandering planets are said to be twice as numerous as stars in real life by some estimates, so... That's kinda cool. Secret pirate planets.

Looney Tunes? Newspapers? Green is the new black? I don't get it.

Indeed.

That's kinda what happens in that's more or less Imperium of Man lite, after all.

Oh, and remember that the USA does have wiretapping, racial profiling, defense of widespread white-collar crime, plutocratic government, etc. It's absolutely nowhere near North Korea, but also far from perfect.

Pretty much my view on it.

Especially the government.

It also doesn't help that stuff like this exist.  ;)

Actually, I was more pointing out the fact that they pretty much ate up everything that was once PSR.

How did they manage to do that, anyway?

It boggles the mind.   ???

Or is it that that's just how much of the military/industry sided with them?

Oh, and is the RG really that small? My memory's a little fuzzy on that matter, care to remind me where that was said?   :-\

Looney Tunes? Newspapers? Green is the new black? I don't get it.

The Rather Free Planets of Right Here, located at Right Here.

Some people are bound to make stuff up like this:

BuGs:are you really going there?

DaFFy:Yea im going there!!

...

BuGs: because if you go there, i will go there! And you do not want to be there when i get there! because when i get there, i will be so there!!, that you will wish you would stay right Here!!

Oh you!  :D

Wandering planets are "cool" because they don't get heat from a parent star and are not likely to produce enough internal heat to prevent themselves from freezing over. Well, at least it holds true for most of the terrestrial ones.

Also, I just realized. Ice planet = Ice Pirate = Space Vikings?

Widespread censorship? Media blackouts? Where are you getting this stuff from? The worst I've alluded too is destroying worlds that are usurped by the Garan Separatists (Who, considering what they'd do to the remaining populace, is probably the most merciful thing to do >.>)
