Of course we have to be nice to you Hydro. You are naive but innocent.

I wish everyone was a little more sheltered like you. :D

Wow! Around half of the people that voted are disappointed.  :o

and wow, about 2% about the people didn't wait for spore and liked it. I think this is somehow related, i'd like to have seen a situation where NO ONE who was waiting for spore took that poll: it would be less in the dissapointment category i think.

Yeah, but unfortunately they don't visit this site, so these polls can't be really representative.

Maybe the Sporons are the ones that got dumbed down?  ;D

It certainly didnt live up to the hype, especially with the DRM that they used. My game still takes 5-15 minutes to get to load through many "end processes" as the game hangs at one exact position in its boot sequence... the loading of the Securom bits. Go figure. The recent RA3 release with the same DRM does the exact same thing.

Apart from that, the game is fantastic when it works, but no where near the hype. There is so much potential in procedural methods and Spore doesnt utilize much more then the basics of other games that are already out there. The editors are impressive and fun, but procedural gameplay should be so much more then it currently is in spore.

I am disappointed with the end result in that it was not the game I was expecting. I do like the game, and it is a fun game, but it lacks substance to it that we had been lead to believe would be there. The basic premis that we would be able to share our stories easily and make this something that we could show others never appeared. Basic functions from The Sims2 that allowed for story telling are almost non-existent.

The forced war with the Grox also kills off the initial premis that space would end in a galactic sandbox mode. Instead your are forced in to a quagmire of combat where you get your hand tied behind your back (galactic code).

I think with time the game will improve, but I doubt the hard-core gamers will come back. It was one hell of a first step though, no matter how you look at it.

I waited for like two years, and thought the game was terrible.

Seriously, I feel embarrassed for waiting so long.
Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.
