a thought: possible use of nukes in civ mode?
« on: November 06, 2005, 10:41:41 am »
when I was posting something in the gamespot Real Spore union boards, I thought of something, any species could eventually discover nuclear fission sometime, and we all know what this would lead to.

anybody who knows enough about history will know about the theories of what could happen if an all out nuclear war broke out. So, my thought is, will WW allow that possibility?

In the intro on the Spore official page one city sent a missile which obliberated abother city, this may have been a nuke type weapon. If we are allowed the path to this, then players will have to make a decision whether to risk an all out nuke war and plunge the planet into nuclear winter, or not use em at all.

I vote nukes and nuclear winter! You can always terraform the planet afterwards.

It would be cool if after a nuke war, creatures that suvived suddenly started to mutate.
So your 10 legged carnivore suddenly sprouts wings and grows a second head, that would be cool. ;D

Yeah that would be awesome, or maybe you suddenly got a large amount of evolution points, but when you changed it, it would turn out all crazy

Or toss in an easter egg where if you have nontechnology, they'll spawn sentient robots. :)

Or maybe you could just have a weapon on your UFO that caused instant random mutation in anything hit by it, even plant life.

yea, that was pretty cool in SimEarth where there is the chance some self aware robots might come out of the rubble if a city got destroyed someway. there was an annoying bug in there where if you tried to examine the sentient robots it would cause the game to crash.

now back to the topic heh.

they're NOT self-aware.  in fact if you check their iq they're among the stupidest creatures in the game.

what a rip.

Who needs nukes when you have planet busting lasers of doom?
There is a method to my madness. That method is in and of itself quite mad, but it is method nonetheless.

obviously someone doesn't have the skill to give robots a high IQ

it is possible

tl;dr. But with all those shiny symbols and numbers it's probably awsome.

SimEarth is more than a decade old, things are way more advanced now. besides it was a different type of simulation.

this is going offtopic, so...
