Is it Possible to Move Your Game From One System to Another??
« on: September 09, 2008, 06:59:25 am »
Wondering if it is possible, as far as anyone knows, to take your saved games from one computer in your home to another?  Say most of the week you played on your desktop and now you are jumping to your portable?

I know that just logging in does not bring the content (The saved games) over so does anyone know of another way.

Thanks!

I will be testing today and will let you know...  I had to reformat my HTPC and hoped to save the save games.

Search for a thread about "how to save your game is spore"

Someone outlined how the save games work, I would presume that it's possible to rename the save game folder to shuffle them?

I read the thread but it was not quiet as focused as this one...meaning it does not set out to accomplish the task of hopping from one computer to another...and back. ;)

No no, didn't mean this thread should be in that one, I meant that in all likelyhood you should be able to copy that folder, rename it, and move it anywhere you wanted.

I.E.  I look at my race "A" and see the save game is "Savegame A" grab that folder and drag it to another computer and you should be able to overwrite?

Yes, or you would delete the current files in favor of the new ones...

My question is the galaxy it is in...can all of THAT be moved as well??

Yes, you can move your universe relatively easily.

To get to the files, do this:

Start -> Run
Type in: %appdata%\SPORE\

All those files are your universe.

If your really clever about your network mapping of drives and whatnot, technically you could get two computers to share the same folder for the app data...
