Looking at the picture of the North American continent:

So... yellowstone national park is in... Canada?

Is there a way to unlock all the ship parts without playing? Like a real sandbox...? Anyone?

The cheat code 'spaceCreate' unlocks all creation tools in the Space stage.

Actually, it only unlocks a portion of them.

Specifically: All planet shapers (making mountains, mesas, canyons, rivers, etc.), some of the creature creator tools (epic size a creature, create a creature, etc.), and all of the coloring tools.

Other than that, you're still not left with the atmospheric tools or especially the higher end terraforming creator tools.

You know, there is no point in putting the word spoilers in the thread.
The spoiler was the word before that.

exactly, this thread title is a massive spoiler

No it isn't.  We've known Earth was in-game for months!  WW himself spoiled it for us!

Perhaps it being T1 says that the Spore experience takes place after some nuclear holocaust or other disaster takes place on Earth.

I think what the game is implying is that YOU create life on earth.

Then the continents are wrong for Precambrian Earth, or they are pushing creationist ideas.  NO RELIGIOUS DEBATES, PLEASE!

Putting modern day continents and then saying "Make Life" sounds a little creationist.

On Topic:  I will probably put a blind creature on Earth and then drop a Monolith.

Couldn't you promote Scientology by putting a bunch of abducted creatures on the planet? :D

What else would they be pushing? Spore is all about creating you know.

And I wouldn't read into the formation of the continents too much, I don't think there's a hidden or particular reference to Earth in any particular time.
"It's an experience that is not often had but it's very memorable. When you've sat back and thought about the meaning of life or your place in the universe or are there aliens out there or did I evolve from pond scum or whatever it is, that kind of range of questions is the domain of Spore and everybody in some sense has asked our own set of those questions." -- Will Wright

Besides, an Earth with the continents in the Precambrian positions wouldn't be recognizeable unless you knew what it looked like back then.
