if this game is bought only by imaginative players it wouldn't sell more than 1000 copies, every one is entitled to do whatever he wants.
the only thing I disagree with is spamming in the sporepidia, one guy uploaded more than 34 of the same creature only with different colors. >:(

I don't mind creatures named in other languages, but I wish their names would actually display ingame, instead of just being a blank.

Object creatures.

I don't mind them being made in the CC, but I do not what a teapot, a viking longboat, or a floating castle on my planet. Thank god there is a way to stop them...

I really hate all the unoriginal creatures - namely all the creatures with 2 or 4 legs. Pfft, I can find 2 and 4 legged creatures all over the place in real life, they have no place in Spore.

No-legged creatures are borderline.

What about those 6 leggers we have lots of insects on earth with those. Oh and 8 legs yeah those spiders are everywhere on earth. Guess we can only have odd numbers of legs or tons of legs for you to be happy :P

Personally I think any number of legs can be creative such as this 2 leg guy i made.

Or this 4 leg guy.

Anything with 2 or 4 legs? You're really going to bash on something because of the number of legs?

Don't a majority of Maxis-created creatures fall under the category of "two or four legged creatures?" And what of Hydro's Naucean that the Spore community holds in such high regard, doesn't it also have two legs?

I would be annoyed by too many penis creatures, and it annoys me when people can't select a name other than "asdfg". Make it pronouncable or put some apostophe's in there ;)

That said, this is what sporecasts, filters and manual downloads are for. And the fact that I believe you still can remove a creature from your game if it annoys you, and it will then be replaced.

Some creatures may make me sigh, but I don't think they will "piss me off". As said before, this is not a game for art students and Pixar/Dreamworks. It's for everyone.

Oh yeah, those are pretty lame too. What Spore really needs are some more original creatures, like a teapot, a viking longboat, or a floating castle.

:P

Really I'm fine with just about anything, as long it animates well.  I'ld prefer things to be tagged better, but standard tags haven't really emerged yet.

Bland and Unimaginitive creatures.
I could not find an example for this one, but you know what I mean.  Default paint job, 2 legs, 2 eyes, a mouth and 2 arms.  If you aren't going to try, just don't bother.

Name of a person.
Example - Steve
Wouldn't you guys just love to see a creature named Steve in your game?  Yeah me neither.

Unreadable names.
Example - gfgfgrtrt
If I saw gfgfgrtrt in my game, I'd be pissed.  The creature itself is alright, but the name just makes me hate it.  Why work on a creation and then name it something by smashing your fingers on the keyboard when there is a RANDOM NAME button right there.  I just don't get it.

When people don't capitalize names.
Example - digisaur
This is just a pet peeve of mine.

Minor edits of Maxis monsters.
Example - Froofa Search
There are about 1000 or so Froofa edits.  Come on, at least name it something totally different.

Real animal names
Example - Doggy
Another pet peeve, not a huge deal, it's just I think it'd be stupid duking it out in tribal stage with dogs or cats.

Balls of nothing.
Example - Ball
These things are just stupid.

Numbers in names.
Example - 123450129
I'm pretty sure no species would ever be called 123450129.

Got anything that you guys hate to see?
Also, delete this if there is a topic for this.

THERES A RANDOM NAME BUTTON?!?!

1. penis creatures.

2. unpainted creatures.

3. nonsense creatures (foot on head, arm sticking out of bum).

4. Giberish named creatures (ssklaghasfgoasyg, 1351246234672346).

6. 1337 speak creatures (7h1s Cr347uR3 15 1337).

7. ugly creatures only made to have max stats.

Dude. Americans arent the only race making Spore creatures.
I am going to disagree here.

I know that the Gaming Steve members can make some awesome creatures and add full descriptions, clever names etc..

But remember this game is rated 10+ and a lot of younger players are actually having fun making their own creations.

I do know that 2 of my grand children (12 and 10 yo) are having Spore creature parties with their friends on the week end.

I also watched another 6 yo play with the CC for a couple of hours. He was loading Maxis creatures and modifying them. At that age they have no idea of the consequences of clicking a share button.

This is where the Sporecasts will come into effect. It lets YOU choose which creatures YOU want into your game.

I totally Agree with you. I mean, Kids also play Spore CC.

I hate:
Totally Ripped off creatures
Sporn Creatures

...and thats it.
Sporn is not apropriate for the Sporepedia, and i do NOT promote stealing of creatures.

I hate everything listed so far, with one addition that especially tweaks me:

I hate people naming their creatures stupid things, or obscene things. I hate that.

Sometimes it occurs with an otherwise good or even great creature, and that is even worse!

I might come across some amazing spider-moose thing in the 'pedia, and bam, its name is 'Jigglypuff', or 'Cockscarfer' or 'Visit Sporesitewebthing.com' or something like that. Or maybe its '******.com' - some folks seem to be using creature names as spam, as advertising! Once I saw 10 creatures in a row, all named the web address of some (supposedly) Spore fan site in Denmark.

I HATE THAT. Most of all, maybe.

I do not want to be exploring a planet, playing naturalist, and come across a massive herd of the the wild and untamed 'visitmycrappywebsite' beast. That just turns wonder into despair. Seriously. It does.

All of my creatures -all of them- have original names, full background text, and a full set of tags that make sense. Can't everyone do the same? Hell, there is a random name generator right there for the lame, if they need it. It's not very good, but it's there.

It can't be too hard to bother with a few tags for goddess' sake - if your creature is mostly red, then just put down 'red' if you can't think of anything else! Even the severely 'tarded could do that much. I certainly can and I'm real messed up.

And what does it take to type a few measly words about your creature in the description, huh? Even if it is just 'This creature is a big, dumb, oaf'. At least that is some character. At least it gives some feeling other than... -blank-. Fluff is where the depth comes from!

Arrrggh. Arg I say.

Just a little bit of care. That's all I want. Just a little bit of respect for others, for one's own work, and for the experience of others who are going to see your work.

I don't need folks to be brilliant... I just need them to bother a little, and not be total jerks. That's all.

Why is that so hard?

(Don't answer, rhetorical question, I pretty much know why. I just can't bear it.)

I'd like to apologise on behalf of the galactic council for unleashing the Killer Teapot on the multiverse.  :P

Now, call me crazy, but if I see critters I don't like, I just don't do anything with them. To me, there's not really much point in getting angry at someone I don't even know.

Dude. Americans arent the only race making Spore creatures.

We English speak English as well, among others. That's not to say I'm defending that there should be only one language to rule them all when it comes to the Sporepedia. If anything, I'm agreeing with the fact that there's a world outside America.  ::)

You're all going to see stuff you don't like. I've seen stuff I don't like as well, stuff that's creased my face up and elicited a high-pitched-David-Tennant-as-The-Doctor-like "What?" in response. But the game is already confirmed to have filtering options, which hopefully will be as effective as they say.

Having said that, I suppose galaxies containing masterful races that destroy others genocidally for displeasing aesthetics does add a sense of flavour to things.  ;)

Only trouble is, they're Whose Line Is It Anyway points, which are infamously not worth anything.

I agree, it's easy to knock other peoples creations. But people have different tastes and ability levels and spore should welcome everyone.

My pet peeve is having a creature with no bio.

Now I know there are a lot of GSers that dont' bother with bios, and I'm not saying that all creatures without bios are bad. Far from it. I just think that the quality of a creature goes far up with a bio. A well written bio can breathe life into an otherwise mediocre creature.

I'm with Prath, the amount of elitist creature fascism in here is worrying.

Seriously, I know some creatures are bad, but hating on them and making a thread just to badmouth them is poor TBH.

Anyway, heres the bigger kicker....were using an easy mode editor, how many of us here are actual skilled artists or 3D modellers?.

Likewise half of what we make in the CC is really, at the end of the day, nothing special beyond our own attachments to them either.

Perhaps Gamingsteve s

pore forums have developed a nasty case of elitism from the creation corner, but Spore isn't about our ego's, its about everyone making something easily and relatively quickly to share.

As for the foreign language names, well....get this, the world extends beyond North America and western Europe, to places where when you ask "do you speak English?" people say "какой?".

The point of spore is to easily create something and take pleasure in it, not to harsh on other people.
