I liked the Space voices. It's cool that each species sounds different.

In the Space video, around 2:02 or so, a few UFOs come out to attack the player's UFO. They all look the same, though -- as in, the attackers look like the player's UFO, at least to me. Pirates, maybe? Or rebels? I like the concept of rebels from your own species.

Although the commentator said something about UFOs, I think those were aircraft from civ stage at the 2min mark.   One could quickly prove it by exiting the atmosphere and leaving them behind (or not, and get followed by three even more angry UFOs...my bad).

Yeah, so far the 'voices' are interesting, and luckily, not very Simlish (ugh).

Possibly. Still a remarkable likeness, I say.

I actually found that if you change the creature's jaw shape, it affects the voice ever so slightly. They've done a fantastic job with voices.

Hey now, Simlish is pretty brilliant. The creation of it was, in any case.

Yes it was, but, it wears on you after years of it.

Or maybe its just another game, Civilization Revolution, that has similar, which I find really annoying nowadays (turned it off completely).

I've also noticed that the voices also change when you change the size of it, its mostly in pitch. If you make one of the insect mouths or one of the birdlike mouths that has a high pitched voice, small, then the voice will be so high pitched as its barely audible.

I actually looked into that myself. I have two bird creatures with the same beak, the Fallyopterix and the Erksalon, but one has a lower jaw than the other and the two have an ever so slight inflection in their singing.

Having various mouths of different sizes also affects it widely, my Thalnoc actually does a pretty good impression of a wolf howl with the mouths that it has.

I like the papery art style. And yes, the cuteness. =P
Critters that you can design, trade and collect? It's totally gonna be a hit, I think.

i don't really know how the ds version'll end up. it could be a humongous success like nintendogs, or flop.
