Nah you don't have to change it, it's fine. The ethnicities and whatnot can stay in place, they aren't really a big deal. Just remember that you're not in Ireland and that Ireland probably doesn't exist.

My RP post was fine in retrospect, I just changed my bio to say that the ethnic groups probably group together into territories of sorts, without the autonomy of course, like how in cities there is an Irish neighbor hood, a Mexican one, a Cuban one and so on.

That sound good?

I take it the general tech level is rather high: genetic modification, bionics, hover vehicles, pocket supercomputers, artificial wombs, and handheld laser weapons.  That a sound about right?

Are new Augs "made" or just born to their Aug parents?  Both?  Are different types of Augs allowed to mate?  Were they separated by breed until recently?

Any modification could exist, but only ones that could be applied to menial or tedious work were allowed to persist, correct?

I have a couple different ideas, but I want a good handle on the setting first.

Yeah the tech level is fairly high. Let's say that the modifications began centuries ago and that for some reason a large number of people are born with crippling physical problems. Before augments were invented those people just died or had to scrape out an existence. Nowadays they don't have to. Also, a person can become an Aug if they want, though this would probably be very uncommon due to the stigma. What else... augmented weapons were most likely outlawed after the war so you don't see any mass production of weapon augments and having them would be highly illegal (and amazingly expensive). It'd be so much cheaper and much easier to just go out and buy a laser pistol.

**EDIT**
By the way, you guys are allowed to make up anything you want in the RP as long as it fits the framework I set up. There's no way I can fill out a world all by myself, so feel free to go wild!

I'm having a hard time picturing Rocky for some reason: is he a seven year old who's development was accelerated to that of a thirty year old in a vat, or someone who became an aug and had their aging cease at age seven, twenty-three years ago?

Basically the first one, except not in a vat. He was "adopted" by GNN at age 3 and given a type of drug to rapidly accelerate aging while it was being taken.
No way dude, you're trolling me.

Kenotai, I still don't think you're getting the idea that this isn't set on Earth.
America doesn't exist, but maybe "Vespuccia" does. Theres no McDonalds, but perhaps theres an "O'Mallys". Geddit?

You don't have to use my suggestions (though I do rather like Vespuccia) if you don't want. But seeing 'America' and 'McDonalds' really kills the immersion. Reading that part of your post was like having a bucket of cold water thrown on me and jerking me out of a dream.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

I changed it to be a bit more vague, better?  The Frank Gehry reference wasn't bad was it?  This is all very new to me, so please be nice (and you were) when I screw up.  And I understand it isn't Earth, I just feel that loose ethnic neighborhoods would naturally develop, and Pat seems to feel the same way.

Vespuccia seems to be the #2 alternative to America right behind Columbia, so far as alternate universes go.

Just so you all know, I won't be joining this, but will be keeping an eye on it. It looks to be a good means to snag fresh blood.

Nothing at all, it simply connects a person to the ARN. What could be the harm in that?
