Ok, fine, definitely don't slap LadyM, she's got the goods...  : )

But, if this DOES turn out to be a trick and Maxis is really controlled by real aliens who're using this game as a test for our acceptance of their ugly and strange ways, well...

*first post!!

(probably followed by "gurgle" as they kill me off).

LadyM, glad to hear you're happy with the extended game play, and hopefully the whole day went smoothly as well.

Low complexity in the green and yellow. The Anklebiter showed up pretty early so along those lines.

Part of the studio, on floor 6 is where Will Wright's office is and some of the team.

It's like Willy Wonka and the golden tickets. We enter the world of Spore.

Our group going into the "warehouse", on the first floor next to the building above. This is where most of the fun stuff happened.

The room we got to play in. Everyone had their own laptop.

A piece of a Russian space station that Will bought and brought back.

Will Wright's office.

He has a nice view

Oops I didn't think of that in all the excitement.

We got swag too:

T-shirt, Creature Creator signed by Will Wright, a bumper sticker, a high res photo of our creature

A poster of our creature. This is going on the wall in my office when I get home

Woo!  Grin

I want to follow up and say that the Maxis group are some of the nicest people I've met. They have a nice comfortable environment to work in and they all work very hard, even while we were there, they worked hard. Every Friday they have a pizza party at the end of the day and they were kind enough to share that with us today.

Thank you to all the Maxis people.  Smiley

It looks and sounds incredible, but you may have to explain the blowing up your own planet feature. Does that mean that if you destroy your homeworld in game, the file is gone? Or did you mean you blow it up to delete the save file?

And nifty swag you got there

Yes, thats what they said but I haven't loaded it to look. Maybe it contains Sporn  Shocked

just kidding

If you have two planets near each other and you visit one with the other's ship, you can blow it up. (If you find it) That means the planet is gone when you go back to the main menu. You can have many home worlds. Each planet represents a game. So you can have multiple games going with multiple creatures. There is no one single home world. Unless you only make one but then you can't blow it up if you only have one. Tongue

Does the game make it very clear that you are viewing one of your other home worlds?

I didn't play space stage. This is from what they told us. But if you only make one planet then you won't have a second planet to blow up is what I meant.

Don't worry, be happy Smiley

I'm going to bed now, early flight tomorrow. I'm sure the others will be here to answer questions before I get back on. I'll post more later.

Night!
