Topic: Spore EA forums (OMG) GS FTW!

I just took a dive at the official Spore forums out of curiosity.
OH MY GOD
These people have really lost their minds , they fight each other , and complain to Maxis about features  instead of actually focusing on the game and having a good time.
This thread may seem pointless , but I'm really proud to be part of this forum and community.

yea, they pretty much do only that. Someone even posted a petition asking for a world editor, mainly because they wanted bigger planets.

I don't even know if doing that is even possible, but come on, there are over a BILLION planets! and look at the terraforming tools that we discovered, it would take a lifetime to exhaust all the possibilities. Besides, we don't yet know the full potential of what we can do in spore.

I did post on there to ask maxis about the issue with parts not moving when the lower jaw moves, no reponse from them yet, but give them time.

Lower jaw is weird.
For some reason parts placed there don't move with the jaw and float there.


But anyway  , I just didn't like the overall attitude of the people in the forum.

No matter how good you make something, everyone can always find at least one thing it MUST or SHOULDN'T have. Especially when they don't have to make it themselves, and want someone to do it. It's easier to make bigger and bigger demands. And why not? Of course it would be better your way.

Sometimes I agree that it would be nice to see some of the things suggested, but some people are so aggressive or mean about what they want. The rest of us are idiots for not seeing it before!

I love it here, at least when people do have a disagreement there's at least some logical argument from both sides [*Most of the time.]

yea, that bug annoys me to hell >< I posted over there because I wanted to know whether it was fixable for sure. Maybe one of the spore mods over there can put in a word to Maxis. If it's not fixable, I'll accept that.

Actually about that bug.
You have to search for the bigger output instead of individual requests.
For example I have a critter that if the jaw moved , would ruin all my work. Quetzalcoatl and I would like it to stay this way.

it was worth a try and I tag those creatures with that problem with breakprocanim anyways, so at least someone on the dev team would be aware of it.

Yes, I was wondering how you managed that with Quetzalcoatl! It was shocking to see the creature the first time.

I stopped by that forum two days ago to look around. I was less than impressed to say the least and did not see much in the way of moderation. No wonder the maxis team doesn’t want to stop by there much, as the forum was complaining about. Im just surprised they respond at all about anything on forums.

well.... it was out of frustration that I posted over there.

Still, we already know that the devs lurk around here and have been doing so since '05 at least, so there is probably a higher chance of a dev seeing that kind of complaint (and I rarely complain about anything about spore here) on GS than on the official spore forum.

They seem to be more interested on who get featured than actually  buying Spore.

Too bad for the scrabbling masses of forumites over there, they're a bit too late to get any large-scale changes made to the game. You know, what with the game coming out in a month.

But yeah, I like the community here. We're like one big (dysfunctional?) family! :3

yea, and the vast possibilities with terraforming should preclude any thoughts of 'oh no my planet is too small, I want a bigger one!', not to mention something about asteroid belts forming from a planet that you dropped a planet buster on or that protoplanetary disk we saw in one vid.
