I don't no what the situation will be in America but when London 2012 rolls around the Olympic committee will only be giving the rights to networks that are also involved with subscription (cable) networks so people will be able to view more events and not just stuff from their nation of origion.

Wow, just wow.

Just saw the 100 metre final.

Seems there isn't a youtube video for it yet, but you should really check it out. Just phenomenal.

EDIT: Here's a video.

Usain Bolt should also get a medal for being so aptly named.

But that was pretty amazing.

Michael Phelps just beat the world record for the most amount of gold medals won in one Olympics, winning Eight gold medals.

The world record for a carreer is nine, and he has about fourteen.

I was listening to the radio today and they had a funny bit about what Michael Phelps will be doing next.

Click here and scroll down to the "prediction" segment.

Phelps wins 8 gold medals!
Hmmm..is it just me or are they not showing any teams but the US in team sports? (soccer, water polo, basketball, etc.)

Actually I haven't even seen soccer on yet...And dammit I want to watch some Hungarian water polo.
What do you think people in the US want to watch? Countries other than the US? Or soccer, which is a sport the US has little interest in? NBC airs what people are most interested in seeing. If you want to see the other sports, NBC has 6 other channels they are airing the Olympics on. If you have cable, you might get some of those channels. Also, you can watch almost anything you want live, and some other stuff afterwards on demand, at nbc.com

I found this quite amusing.

Kid: Oh wow I'm being deflowered by a grown woman!
Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

I just watched the U.S. play Croatia in water polo and they beat them. Apparently it was quite the upset...

The U.S. is huge. It's supposed to do well.

I'm a bit surprised that the U.K.'s got any so many gold medals, though.
Not a winner anymore.
